Tom wrote: "I just finished it with Horror Aficionados. Where are you Kandice. It was a quiet horror book that's for sure. I ended up enjoying it, the end is .... interesting"I think about halfway. The fair day event has happened anyway. I haven't touched it in a couple of days, but plan on picking it up tomorrow.
I'm just starting
Vampire Wars by Perry Lake and
The Complete Works of H.P. Lovecraft. The Lovecraft book I will be dipping into for specific stories per week over November.
I'm currently in the middle of The Girl With All the Gifts: Extended Free Preview and really like it. The beginning especially was very, very original.

Anna wrote: "Hi Monica,I read The Ruins a few months ago and absolutely loved it. What do you think of it?"
I'm really enjoying it so far! I want to know more!
I also started
which is very intriguing so far, I went into it completely blind!

You know, I've had Ruins on my shelf for quite a while. I may have to make that one a priority for 2017. So many books, so little time!

One of the best I've read in a long time.
I really loved the movie. I didn't even know it came from a book until last year and I seen it well over ten years ago. I'd enjoy picking up a copy as well.
I'm reading THE BAZAAR OF BAD DREAMS, which is incredible. I also just finished ELIZABETH by Ken Greenhall. A forgotten masterpiece.

I finished
which I enjoyed more than I expected and I started re- reading
which is one of my favorites.

Yes! Both of those are great too. UR, particularly, was a ripping read. :-)
Slowly trudging through this monster in between other books:H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction
I'm enjoying it, but one story at a time is enough!

Agreed!
I finished
(one of my faves) some time ago and started two books
which is very interesting and
which I can't put down.
I have got these three books now lined up.
,
and
.The only problem I have is that I'm reading quite slowly due to other pressing commitments.
I did the Try A Chapter Tag at the beach vlog style which features I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes! Has anyone read it?? I was SO blown away by the first chapter.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8i2i...

I actually preferred Red Dragon to The Silence of the Lambs, but both are amazing. I wish Harris wrote more quickly.
I'm not sure these count as horror, but they are certainly graphic! I'm reading the Preacher series by Garth Ennis. It's so in your face effed up and because comics are visual, nothing is left to the imagination. You can't tone down the nasty.

I'm currently reading The Enchanted and while it isn't gory, it certainly relays some absolutely horrific situations in a very matter of fact voice. Not at all what I expected.

I am thinking about starting Serial Killers Uncut. Has anyone read this book yet. Curious on your thoughts.

First timer? Now that surprises me!

Finished Fungoid (4 stars--great read)/
And yeah, IT always intimidated me.
Anna wrote: "Hi everyone,I'm new to Gore and More. I'm reading The Ruins by Scott Smith and loving it! Very dark and intense."
That's one of my all-time favourite books. It's phenomenal!
I'm currently reading "Blackbirds" by Chuck Wendig. I'm really enjoying it, but it's so incredibly dark and bleak that I need to take "happy" breaks sometimes and read stuff like Hollywood memoirs...which often turn out to be dark and bleak as well.

Loved that one, too.
I'm reading
and I'm enjoying all of the stories so far and
after reading the novella which was great!
is on pause.
