She uses a futuristic type of skate/hoverboard, and the opening chapter of the book is her carving a loveheart into the side of a building-her tag.
At one point in the book there is a rave.
(it's all rather punk)
Society is tiered and colour coded-reds at the bottom, then orange, yellow etc. til purple, which is the ruler's/queen's colour. (the queen is quite brutal, and one scene in the book involves a mass assassination at a dinner party she hosts.)
There are groups/political parties (kind of?) and Ghost's friend founds one, made mostly of other 'red' members of society.
Ghost finds out that her world is actually part of a virtual reality game when she meets a player (who is actually a man but plays with a female avatar. There are scenes with the 'real' world, and the game is shown to be addictive).
