"That works!
- there is some kind of abstract looking design on it - no idea what its supposed to bethe image is horrible, on the book i have, there is much more of a pink/purple distinction

Just looks like some random, abstract design to me. That works!
How about this one?
Can't tell if there's enough design there for it to be an abstract one lol Thanks!

;-) That works, Cait. Enjoy!

I don't know if the shapes are supposed to represent something. Thanks."
Sorry, Julia, that appears to be a pomegranate.
Nicola wrote: "Will you accept this one:?
"No, sorry, that's not abstract. It's a cross at the hilt of a sword or staff.

"Looks like blocks of color to me. That works.
Tammy AZ wrote: "How about this one?
"No, sorry, there's an identifiable building and crane on the cover.
For this task, you're looking for something that has no identifiable, namable equivalent in the real world. Does that help at all?
Kim wrote: "Would this work for abstract even though there is a white heart in the center?
"No, sorry, the heart shape knocks it out of the abstract category.

"No, sorry, there appears to be a fingerprint above the letter I.
Third time lucky?
I think I saw previously that the company penguin logo isn't considered to be part of the cover.
If this isn't the rule then I can use the book in another task which has an option for a bird on the cover - so either way I can use the book.

Dang that penguin anyway! Unfortunately, he makes it not abstract. Hopefully, the other task you have in mind is a 5-point task? The book is only 83 pages long.....

I'll find a home for it if i read it :-)
So just to confirm a company logo is considered to be part of the cover? I'm just triple checking because I seem to recall seeing a book being rejected previously with the ruling that a publisher's logo didn't count as a valid image. I just don't want to trip over this sometime in the future and wind up on the wall that shall not be named :-)
Does this work?

Thanks!

Some ignore design elements, such as the publisher's logo, and others don't. We try to have that all spelled out in the task itself (especially if it is to be ignored). Sometimes that works out, sometimes it doesn't... ;-)
