Sunshine✰✰✰ | 687 comments Finished
Tracking the Tempest (Jane True, #2) by Nicole Peeler by Nicole Peeler 6/3/16
Gave it 3 Stars.

I liked it a bit better than the first. Jane has been training to get better with her power and while she has gotten better, she is still out of her depth. This book really gets into the series arc with the bad guys and puts a big twist on Jane's life. Lots of humor and sexual undertones, but still a bit "tinny-bopper" for me. (that's my word and I'm sticking to it). I think the books will get better as they go on.

Heya, Michelle! I finished my first pick this morning, Vegas Vacation (Destination Desire) by Crystal Jordan . It was a good read, but the heroine's attitude got a bit old. At least I know I want to read the rest of the series now, so that's a win in my book!

message 135: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Just finished the first of my two picks, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll . Adventures was so good, I absolutely adored it. Unfortunately, Looking-Glass suffered possibly from sequel-itis, and it wasn't as good. Still cute, but nowhere near as great as the first book. Still love the Cheshire Cat, and now I kinda want to watch the animated Disney version again (like I ever need an excuse?). It was weird to see how Disney had combined the two books for the movie, though. Definitely glad that I finally got around to finishing it, though. I've had that paperback for almost a decade, I think? Four stars, would rewatch the animated Disney version again anyway.

(and it was really weird reviewing a book that was actually two books)

I finished King of the Kitchen by Bru Baker today. I enjoyed the story, but I felt it ended too abruptedly and was left with an "is that all there is?" feeling. It was a 3 Star read for me. Thanks again for the selection.

LOL! I just now realized I did not mark down the books you picked for me correctly. However, I did read it anyway, so all's well.

Beyond the Sea by Keira Andrews -- this was an entertaining book. There was some controversy about it a few months back, but I'm not sure why this book was singled out.

I thought you picked Finding North by Carmen Jenner which I didn't much like, but you picked Out of Nowhere (Middle of Somewhere, #2) by Roan Parrish which was a 5 star read.

Thanks for these picks!

★~ I was not a fan. THIS is why.

Tell No One by Harlan Coben
Completed 6/20
★★★★~ I love Harlan Coben. This book was great and sucked me in from the first chapter. My only complaint would be maybe a little more explanation at the end about what happened to some of the secondary characters. Especially Tyrese and his family. Other than that it was a great book.

THANKS FOR THE PICKS!

That happens to me quite a bit, Chelle! I usually wind up reading three or four books off my Dusty Bookshelf, including the ones picked for me, just because I'm in the mood for them. I just view it as moving them off the Mountain that is my To Be Read pile!
