Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments I finished Zoo (The Enclosure Chronicles, #1) by Tara Elizabeth yesterday. I'm not sure what I think of it really. Part of my problem is probably that I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy and this book was several rungs down the ladder from that. Compared to some of the really disturbing and thought-provoking parts of Catching Fire and Mockingjay (I read Hunger Games years ago), Zoo seemed a bit superficial. Not a bad read though. I gave it three stars.

Lou~❧Powerless Over 1-Click❧ picks for me - The Chemistry of Death (Joe Tesla, #3) by Rebecca Cantrell & Innocent Blood (The Order of the Sanguines, #2) by James Rollins
Finished 06/26/16

I finished The Chemistry of Death (Joe Tesla, #3) by Rebecca Cantrell ***1/2 The Chemistry of Death today. I really enjoyed the third Joe Tesla book. It was not quite as good as the first one, but was better than the second one. Maybe I'm a little slow, but halfway through the book when I realized who the killer was I actually shouted out loud. I hope it is not a trilogy and that there is more Joe to come.

Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments Finished Maplecroft (The Borden Dispatches #1) by Cherie Priest on the plane home yesterday. It was an interesting fantasy take on the Lizzie Borden story. According to this version, Lizzie did what she did in self-defense, against two people who were transforming into 'something.' Neither she nor her sister Emma know what exactly happened, but the threat didn't end with their parents - in fact, the problem has expanded beyond the confines of their hometown. The book is part of a series, so I'm wondering where the author's going to take this, particularly after the resolution of this first book. I gave this one four stars.

Emma Ruth (inevitablyannoying) I only managed to read one of my picks this month (isn't that always the way?). My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier was highly enjoyable, though not exactly what I expected. I liked the YA take on The Bad Seed by William March though I'd pick Rhoda over Rosa any day.

Thanks again for the picks, LaurLa!

Glad you pretty much enjoyed them, oddly enough I'm now listening Dorothy Must Die (Dorothy Must Die, #1) by Danielle Paige to

Theo | 1929 comments Finished both my picks for the month!

Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu (6/27, 3 stars) and We've Got a Job The 1963 Birmingham Children's March by Cynthia Levinson (6/30, 4 stars)

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) | 1919 comments Theo,

I read both books. I really enjoyed Love Irresistibly and gave it 4 stars but while Thirteen was a good book I was disappointed in it and gave it 3 stars and that was probably a bit generous. Thanks for the picks!
