Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yeah... Seanan is not easy to get if don't like fae novels. Or weird supernatural beings. Or zombies. Or parasites in the brain. Or killer mermaids.

For those of you that don't know Seanan McGuire is her UF writer name and she also writes as Mira Grant (horror and sci-fi)

message 203: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8050 comments I did not know that. A couple of the Wayward Children books were really wonderful. I have yet to read a Grant book.

message 204: by Devann (new)

Devann (devannm) | 2778 comments i'm a bit biased since i've read everything she's written under both of her pen names but i think she's brilliant lol wayward children has definitely turned out to be her most popular series i think, but it's unsurprising since it seems most really popular books are YA these days. at any rate, i'm glad that it's causing her to get more recognition because i think she totally deserves it!

I enjoyed both of Feed and Into the Drowning Deep, but (the marvellous Tybalt aside) didn't really get along with Rosemary and Rue :(

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Cat wrote: "I enjoyed both of Feed and Into the Drowning Deep, but (the marvellous Tybalt aside) didn't really get along with Rosemary and Rue :("

That's good, because I already have a cat fight with Steven over Tybalt, I don't want to have another.

I liked the initial October Daye's books BUT, the series only did it for me from book #4 on.

I'm still not up to date, but will be eventually.

Cat (cat_uk) | 10094 comments Mod
hang on! Steven doesn't like Tybalt??!

what's wrong with the man?!

message 208: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Oh yeah, he likes Tybalt. He likes him so much that he wants him all to himself. Which of course, I did not agree. Hence, the fight.

The October Days series gets better as it goes along. It’s a bit disappointing that the last few books in that series haven’t been released in kindle or audible UK versions.

message 210: by Devann (new)

Devann (devannm) | 2778 comments haha i didn't really like him until later in the series. i just think he comes across as too arrogant in the early books, but i guess he is a cat ;) i do love him now though

message 211: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments My favorite is still the incryptid series, but, I haven't read wayward children, yet

message 212: by Devann (last edited Jun 05, 2019 08:51AM) (new)

Devann (devannm) | 2778 comments incryptid is kind of hit or miss for me depending on who is the protagonist for the book, but they are a lot of fun. i was going to reread them all but i got stuck on book 3 because i don't like it that much lol

message 213: by Megan (new)

Megan (meganraex) | 1031 comments Anyone read Middlegame by Seanan McGuire yet? I started it last night and enjoying it so far!

message 214: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8050 comments I bought that a couple of weeks ago, but haven't started it yet. Glad to know it is good so far.

message 215: by Devann (new)

Devann (devannm) | 2778 comments i liked it but i felt like i had more questions than answers by the time i was done with it lol. that could just be me being temporarily stupid though ;)

message 216: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3007 comments The Wayward Children series is the only thing I read by Seanan McGuire so far and I think it'll stay that way. I just don't wanna get disappointed since I'm usually not really into fantasy that much :( I miiiiight give one of her horror/sci-fi books a chance at some point though

Any particular diet or exercise regimen we should take on now to be ready for it?
Any hints on what books we should put off reading until then?

Please oh please...

message 222: by Devann (new)

Devann (devannm) | 2778 comments last year was my first tower teams and it was really fun. is it always based around a particular book series or are the themes more varied?

You can see the themes here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

It has been pretty varied. The first year there was no theme, so TTII was the first theme - Crayola colours ;)

This one is ❀Tea❀'s baby. I just checked the thread where she first started thinking about it and throwing around ideas with the mods....and it was in September 2018.
That's a lot of time for the chipmunks to run wild ;)

Just me? Hmmm.

message 241: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I will probably spend those few intervening days reading graphic novels, children’s books sans verified word count, and other things that don’t count. ;)

message 242: by Devann (new)

message 245: by Donna (new)

Donna (dkflynn33) | 2715 comments Oh Camilla, that would never happen. You can be on a team with me if you want. I like getting to know new people.
