Mainly, I just live in my head a whole lot before I write a book! I like to have a really good feel for my characters before I ever put my fingers on the keyboard.

Aleksandra Reads | 48 comments Hi, Mia! Love your books! <3 If you could spend one day with one of your characters, who would you picj and why? :)

Thank you so much, Angela! <3 When I started coming up with the storyline for Archer's Voice, I really just wanted to write a different sort of hero than I'd read before. I'd recently read several books in a row where all the heroes sort of blended together and I wanted to break that mold. <3

Mia Sheridan | 122 comments Heather wrote: "Hi Mia! Some of the names you've chosen for your series are so unusual. Could you tell us why you chose some of them and which is your favourite? Thanks! "

Hi Heather! Thank you! :) I usually name my books after the characters - if not their name exactly (as in Stinger -Carson's last name- or Kyland), then the name with another word attached (as in Archer's Voice or Becoming Calder). :D And most often, the characters name has to do with the sign of the zodiac they're representing. :D (For example, Archer is Sagittarius - the Archer).

Hi there! Thank you!! I actually made up Acadia in many respects - which, is kind of what actual cult leaders do when it comes to their sects - pretty scary actually. :( But I also did a lot of research on Jonestown which is horrifying and fascinating at the same time. (They're the ones who drank the arsenic laced Kool Aid in a massive murder/suicide). Researching cults left me chilled for weeks! :(

Mia Sheridan | 122 comments Parody wrote: "Hi Mia, I have loved all of your books so far, thankyou for giving us such great stories. My question is; Each of your books are so different, where do you find your ideas and inspiration?"

Hi Parody! Thanks so much! I really find my inspiration wherever I can get it! :) Before I start writing a book, I really just try to pay attention to the things that draw my interest - it could be an article on some subject or another, a song, really anything. And then I start weaving from there! :)

Hi Becky! Thank you! And yes, Nyle's name has been mentioned to me before and I'm a big fan! I don't have final say in any of the casting decisions, but I'd certainly love to see someone like him play the role - I agree that he'd bring something very special to the part. <3

If you are not writing what you usually do? Do you watch TV shows? what is your favorite shows? :)"

Hi Angelina! I actually don't watch a lot of TV. I do like HGTV and tune into that if I just sort of want background noise. The only series that I've gotten into recently is Game of Thrones. My husband and I watch that one but that's about it. :)

Mia Sheridan | 122 comments Irene wrote: "How did functional characters influence you as a teenager growing up? Thanks :)"

Hi Irene! Great question! I always say that I hope so much my daughter is a reader because I really think it helps a person make better choices in life. For instance, for me, I read romance as a teenager (YA of course) and so to date someone who treated me shabbily didn't appeal - I wanted that grand romance like the characters in the books I read! Of course, there are always other factors in individual decision making, but I do think books helped me form ideas about right/wrong, etc. Reading just expands your whole world and you see possibilities your might not simply going from your own worldview.

Hi Dianne! Yes! I'm planning on writing a book about all the signs! :D As far as the character most like me, I'd probably say Evie since she was my first heroine and I didn't know how to separate myself as much as I do now. :)

Mia Sheridan | 122 comments Eva wrote: "Hello Mia,
Do you have any tips for another aspiring writer?"

Hi Eva! I guess my best piece of advice is to really pay attention to what you love and put more of that out into the world in the unique way only you can do it! Let other things inspire you and then find your own twist. Don't worry about what might be popular, or what others might like. Do the thing that calls to your own heart because that is what you will do best. After that, it's really a matter of just sitting down and writing! You can go back later and edit and correct, but just sit down and write! <3
