If you were a Lord of the Rings character who would you be?

I love The Lord of the Rings; the prose, the beauty, Middle Earth, and the characters. And most readers can identify with at least one character. I feel I can relate to Bilbo Baggins because of his love of history, tales, and music, the call of adventure, and the struggle to balance respectability with stepping out of his comfort zone. Not to mention a love of parties conflicting with the need for peace and quiet!

What Lord of the Rings character do you identify with and why?

Tom Bombadil. The greatest, most powerful character in the whole book(s).

The Elves, I loved your agility, quietness, fearlessness and fighting abilities.

I suppose the Rohirrim - I love the way in which Tolkien describes them and write about them

I'm in between the Rohirrims and Elves... don't really like choosing. Wouldn't mind being Andal eighter. wouldn't like being a hobbit. I'd love to be the Dragon =))

I think Merry and Pippin. They are so stubbornly happy! But they feel like such a burden. And they don't know what they've gotten into. And they are forced to mature and deal with huge problems they've never dreamed of. And they're still so stubbornly happy! And I'm pretty childish myself. Gotta love em.

Probably a minor character that never leaves the Shire, but then I live in semi-rural England, so I pretty much am anyway.

I think Legolas, because he is an excellent archer. The fight scenes with him and Gimli in the movie is brilliant. They count all their kills as they go.
