I don't remember the title, but the books cover shows a red haired girl wearing a white and purple dress holding a glowing white flower

the book follows a girl somewhere between 11-14 in the united kingdom who moves and befriends these two cousins who don't like each other and there's sort of a love triangle thing between them. and they become involved with a mystery involving magical flowers that open a portal to another world based off an old local fairy tale

a running thing in the book is the girl is working on a collage, and at over ne point, she cuts the flower pattern off of a curtain hem, but then she gets found out and her parents have to pay for "invisible stitching" to repair the curtain.

one of the boys cousins was mad at her because she promised to give him her dog but her dad gave it away without her permission to someone else.

it was one of those subtle fantasies. the magical portal only really appears at the end, and that's the extent of the magic.

at the very beginning of the book, they were moving. that's why they had to give away the dog
