Let's Create that Quiz

Okay, so Jalilah suggested that we come up with our own quiz questions here. This thread is for questions so we can construct a GR quiz.

My question might be silly, but here goes...if we create the questions here everyone will know the answers. Will this be a general quiz for group reads and not this group?

Well, this would be a general quiz on GR. I'll start another thread for a game just in this group.

I know once I started reading more original tales I realised most of versions I knew were the Disney ones.
So for example one big surprise for me was the original version of Sleeping Beauty.
I knew the version where the prince woke her up with kiss and then took her away and they lived happily ever after.
It was only after joining this group that I found out about the older version where the prince had sex with Sleeping Beauty while she was sleeping and what woke her up was not the kiss, rather a child she'd born sucking her finger.
So I'd ask what woke up Sleeping Beauty,?
I'll have to look up to see which is the older version. Do you know who wrote that one?

You are referring to Talia, Sun and the Moon. It was Strapola I believe who wrote it.

I am still trying to read more original tales, because most of my knowledge is still Disney. :)

So is Talia, Sun and Moon what Sleeping Beauty was originally based on? I always thought the new born baby sucking the splinter out of her finger was an older version of Sleeping Beauty!

It is older. First European version. Earliest, to be more correct.

Chris, I am thinking that the questions in the other quiz thread you started could be used for the goodreads quiz.
