Jack Mallia | 2 comments I read this book about 5 or 6 years ago. It's a young adult fantasy book with a blue cover and if i remember correctly some circular pattern with stars in it or symbols of some sort. What i can remember of the book is that there is a boy who goes to some sort of a dinner with many people from his kingdom, the boy wants to be a knight with his best friend. There is a very powerful wizard there and the boy notices him. The boy then during the dinner, passes out but begins to float unconscious above the table. The wizard takes him and takes care of him and tells him that this is a sign that he is meant to be a very powerful wizard. i cant remember exactly but the wizard may have called the levitating unconscious thing the merlin effect or something along those lines. the boy is troubled because he wants to be a knight but eventually chooses to become this wizards apprentice. he learns magic and if im remembering correctly, its a language like symbols that he has to focus on in his head in order to do certain things. like he can control a tree by thinking of the symbol for tree or anything like that. ok thats all i can remember id really appreciate any help, ive been looking for this book on and off for almost 2 years with no luck, thanks!!

Benjamin (browly) | 24 comments Sounds a bit like Magician: Apprentice. He does go to a dinner with his friend near the beginning and passes out or something. I don't remember this book very well, though.
