The most annoying thing about audio books

I have to keep playing with the friggen volume...it's annoying. Anybody e..."
Yep, I had to switch from audiobook to e-book because of it. I don't remember which book it was but there was a really big difference in volume between dialogs and narrative: if the narrative was OK then I couldn't hear dialogs at all, but if I heard dialogs OK then narratives were screaming!
Another thing I don't like is when the narrator reads the book very slowly, so you get 20 hours out of 200 pages. Or when there is no difference in voice between characters - so in dialogs I have no idea who's speaking and if it is the same person speaking or another.

I'm like okay volume up...wait down...up down up more up more. Too loud, wait too quiet, woops accidently brought the volume down lower than the last time...woops.

Sometimes, I am weirdly accustomed to reading along with the audio, and yes, I do read much faster than the narrator so I end up fast forwarding.
Mostly, the I save audiobooks for multi=tasking and exercises such as jogging, house chores, doing paper work that doesn't require my whole attention. This way, I don't give much thought to the speed of the read or become too annoyed by the limitation in voice creativity.
But I do have some faves:
*Rosalyn Landor [historical romance]
*Borah Coburn Highland Rake
*Phil Gigante [(though sometimes a like Masterpiece Theatre LOL, he's particularly good in PNR- Karen Marie Moning; Feehan]
Brianna Bronte (she's done like all of the Breeds books; I like her especially in Dawn's Awakening&Coyote's Mate
Kimberly Alexis does a dramatic but passable Russian accent(in a way) in Kresley Cole's Game Maker Series(3.5 to 4 stars at best In The Master)
I have listen to any Dark Hunter audios yet.

I am listening to Born of Night, just to get through my ebook tbr faster and this voice actress is horrible :/ Her accents for the guys are terrible (*is Hawk a rasta guy?) I also can not remember anyone's names except Hawk, NyK, Kiara, and Syn...b/c she says the other names wierd or muffled. She also sounds like a teen cheerleader while she tells the back stories. Nothing sounds as harsh as I am sure it should be. It feels like they all had fluffy lives with a little rough edges. And I hate the female lead b/c of how she portrays her. I may just have to buckle down and read my ebooks after I finish this one. But I really am going to be annoyed that I will get no housework done.. lol
