There were quite a few red herrings in this story. Were you misled by any of them? If so, which ones? Who did you strongly suspect for most of the story and why?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I didn't have any clear suspects. At first it felt like the author wanted us to believe that Wally Hobbs was behind it. That was way too obvious. Then there was Professor Bonzado, cooking up body parts on the stove right beside his lunch. I dismissed him too. I was beginning to think that Luc Racine may not have alzheimers, but was actually suffering from some type of split personality where he was the killer and didn't remember doing it. Of course, I was wrong about that.

Wally Hobbs was pushed onto our radar early and later Adam but I never bit.

I thought it was Simon all along when Adam noticed his pry bar wasn't in the back of his truck. Then when Adam used that vanilla-based cleanser in his lab, which we knew Sonny had used, I knew the killer worked in Adam's lab. I knew it was definitely not Adam as there was nothing in his makeup to do something like this.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I suspected Simon at once because he seemed to back off and observe, showing no enthusiasm for being a "mature" student.

The vanilla threw me off for a while, but I didn't want Adam to be the culprit. The other red herring was Hobbs, still living in his parents' homestead, which seemed remote, but I didn't sway his direction.

I just don't remember knowing what Simon's part-time job was. Did we know early on that it was at the funeral home? Oh, yes, the funeral director was slimy, too -- another possible suspect.
