I've read it twice so won't be joining. It's one of my favourites.

Eric I might be joining after I finish gardens of the moon.

message 5: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Xu (kxu65) | 530 comments One of the most hyped books I have seen within the last 10 years.

message 6: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Millard I will be starting this evening!

message 7: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Kathleen (jennakathleen) Read it a few years ago, but it's still too soon for a re-read. I might pop in on the discussion.

message 8: by Scott (new)

Scott (thekeeblertree) I really want to read this again; probably my favorite fantasy book.

I read it again when two came out, I'll probably repeat that process.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I read this a while ago, and probably won't this time. I've been waiting for the third book to read the second...so I'll re read the the first at that time.
However, I will try to check in, and join the conversation when I can.

I am in the same place. Need to finish up the last read.

message 13: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Millard I need help, or at least a discussion thread. I'm 14 chapters in and feeling lonely. :P

message 14: by Palash (new)

Palash (naikon) | 63 comments I abandoned this book in february. I will resume it now.

message 15: by Monica (new)

Monica Davis I've already read this one as well. Not going to re-read, but will check the discussion thread and join in where I can.

Me too, I read it last year and thought it was OK...I want to see what others think. I abandoned the second book about half way through, it did not catch my interest

message 17: by Wendy (new)

Wendy I read Name of the Wind last year. I got stuck in the middle of The Wise man's fear- I would like to catch up on it. For now I am still finishing up on Moons garden.

message 18: by Illusode (new)

Illusode | 23 comments wow, i must've been living under a rock; never heard a thing about this book before, no hype-related expectations whatsoever!

i'll be reading along, since i have a copy. hope to see what y'all think of it

message 19: by Scott (new)

Scott Hitchcock (lostinthewarrenofchaos) | 443 comments Already read it. Sadly I only thought it was OK. I may give it a re-read at some point. Where it was being compared to Way of Kings and Words of Radiance in terms of quality I was expecting something in that range of epic awesomeness and just wasn't feeling it.

message 20: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Millard Is it acceptable if I start a discussion thread for this book? Can I even do that, or does a mod need to?

Jenna Kathleen (jennakathleen) Daniel wrote: "Is it acceptable if I start a discussion thread for this book? Can I even do that, or does a mod need to?"

I was also thinking that - it's unusual that a discussion board wouldn't already be put up by this point.

I have been checking twice a day since 4/1 to see if one is up yet. :D

Perhaps we should wait until a mod sees this discussion - otherwise I will message Helen. :)

Sorry for the delay, normal service should have resumed. :)

I'm hoping it worked on my mobile!

message 25: by Dan (new)

Dan (TheGreatBeast) I read it about 6 months ago, so I won't be joining the group read, though I will chime into the thread from time to time as it is still relatively fresh in my memory.

message 26: by Vera (new)

Vera M. | 27 comments I have so much on my To Read pile this month. So I probably wont be rereading this, but will also try and pop into the discussion of it.
