Read the short story Professional Integrity today. Rated it four stars. What can I say. Royce and Hadrian are two of the best characters in fantasy today. Love those guys and loved this story.

After reading the reviews, I believe I'm going to put it on my to-read list. Thanks Sterling.

Just picked up The Enchanted Castle to read with my girlfriend. Fun tone and fast paced intro so far.

I'm reading Daggerspell, for the readathon I read: The Girl on the Train, The Wrath & the Dawn, Into the Dim.

Finished off from a March start:
Throne of Glass My 11.5 year old wanted to read it and I wanted to clear it first. It is good for that age group. Solid and well written effort in the YA fantasy realm.
The Aeronaut's Windlass 5*'s and the best Butcher I've read.
Finished in April:
The Lies of Locke Lamora 5*'s. I liked this a lot more than I thought with some of the Ocean's Eleven comparisons. This is so much better.
The Builders Solid, easy read. A dark Redwall with a crew of killers twist.
The Last Kingdom Historical fiction that could be GrimDark easily. Really good flow and well told.
Furies of Calderon About a 3.5* effort. It was really solid and you can see it building in future books but nothing made it stand out above and beyond.
Dawn of Wonder 4.5* book that starts out heavily as a coming of age with only hints into fantasy. The stage is set for this to be an epic series where the main character starts out at 13 but finishes in later books as an adult.
In progress:
Last Argument of Kings Just over 60% done. Such a great epic set of books. This is number three in the series. The characters as so perfectly flawed.
Academ's Fury About 20% in. Similar to the first book in the series it's solid.

Funny I loved Dawn of Wonder and found Name of the wind just OK. The only downside to Dawn of Wonder is the first three-quarters is more or less a coming of age story with only hints of what might be fantasy wise. The last quarter leaves you wanting so much more and I think we'll get it in coming books. Name of the Wind just dragged in sections for me and all the hype probably didn't help but when I read The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance my expectations were just as high but I was rewarded and then some.

You need a vacation! :)

The last three books are amazing. With all respect to the diseased and his work I feel like Sanderson cleaned up a lot of Jordan's flaws and I don't know if it would have had the same flow with Jordan at the helm. For me regardless the first three books and the last three were the best and especially the last three.

I'll come back to finish that trilogy off soon, but for now I'm taking A Natural History of Dragons with me on vacation. Seems fitting.

I truly enjoyed The Wrath & the Dawn, and The Rose & the Dagger is finally out :)
I've read Saint's Blood, the third book of the Greatcoats series, it has a powerful start and a great execution. I'm truly in love with this series. Then The Element of Fire, my first Wells book. It's a standalone set in her Ile-Rien world, I liked it and was impressed considering its her debut book. I'll be sure to read The Death of the Necromancer soon. Then I've read my first, and undoubtedly not last, Moorcock book, Gloriana (since it was Shakespeare's week I thought a story set in an alternative Golden Age was fitting) and uh, I was reminded again what a wonderful medium fantasy is.
I'm taking a little break with a historical romance novel with an actual (albeit slow) plot, The Secret of Pembrooke Park, which is nice considering it's romance and my expectations were very low.
I have not decided what to read next (The Rose & the Dagger, maybe :D).

Just finished Shadows of Self today.
I really love Wax and Wayne (get it ;) ). These guys are in my top ten favorite fantasy characters. I really loved this story....until the ending. (view spoiler) I would have given it a much higher rating except for this. Really great story with some really big hints on what the next story will be about. Highly recommended. Started The Bands of Mourning.

I like that rule. I will have to start doing that. (Not throwing more books against the wall). A lot that I have are digital so I will have to do it virtually.

Oh hell, no! Hahaha, we are agreed there.
The first three still have their share of sexism, and propaganda-like espousing of Christianity, which may be what people are looking for, are not so heavy handed as the following books, and did not come across as racist as well as sexist. Plus there's a dragon in book 3, and Reepacheep in books 2 and 3 so, uh, bonus points for that!
