SOLVED. Don' remember anything but this, please help, science fiction, maybe dystopian [s]

So i don't really remember it, but the only part i remember was when the main character turned into a tick and sliced open the antagonist's eardrum. I know it's a really weird part to remember, but it's all i have to go off of.

There is apparently a scene similar to that in The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson. Daniel is able to turn into a tick and crawl inside Seth's ear to destroy him.
