Just started it but so far its great.
Just started it but so far its great.

I thought the first book (Red Rising) was good but not great. The sequel, though, was hands-down amazing! It took me about 100 pages to get into it, but it was so worth the read. :)

I finally finished Owl and the City of Angels and now I desperately need the third one. Thankfully it comes out this summer!
JENNY: Thanks. Thought it was a trilogy but then I saw the fourth. want to finish the series. Read the first but wanted all books to come out first.
I had the misfortune of picking up last night...
UGH! it was so good I couldn't put it down. Finished it in one sitting. Good thing it was a fast read! (Misfortune because I picked it up at night and didn't get to finish it till late into the night. Boo work!)

Oh Bluemoon! That is seriously one of my top 5 all time favorite reads. If you can sometimes you should also try it on audiobook because the narration is wonderful. Glad you loved it too!
@Bluemoon - I also read that book in one sitting. I was a total mess at the end. I don't cry easily but there were just tears streaming down my face. :P One of my favorite books––so heartbreaking, but so beautiful. Dammit, Patrick Ness!

Finished:
I liked it, although it was not my favorite of the series so far.
And today I was on a 6-hour car trip (uggh) with my family, but the bright side is that I re-read almost half of:

Ha! I just checked my review of Unsouled and I said the same thing - not my favorite. I did really enjoy book 4 though so I hope you do too. I just finished my re-read of HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban :)

I agree - it was a good book but probably my least favorite of the series. Still wound up with 5 stars because holy crap intense. Book four is a great end!

Also finished

Also finished my reread of

Right now I'm reading

Next I'm reading

The Hobbit is one of my absolute favorites, though I have to admit I didn't like the movies (despite LOTR being my favorite movie series). I can't wait to hear what you think of them.

Ashley *Hufflepuff Kitten* wrote: "oh and I just realized I never told you guys about Riders! Heidi, I would say give this a shot and see what you think. Here's my review, I gave it 3.5 stars :)"
Ok thanks Ashley!

Boo :(

It's taking me ages to read it the first time! To be fair though, I'm also juggling 3 other books at the same time. Les Mis is my long-haul book for the year.

I hear you....it took me about a year to read it the first time. It's quite the big read, but so worth it.
We watched parts of the movie yesterday (Hugh Jackman), skipping to our favorite songs, and I just had to pick up the book :)

@Heidi - A bunch of people have told me the same thing––that UnSouled is not the best, but that UnDivided is really good. I got it out of the library today, so hopefully I will get to it soon! :D Also I'm almost done with my re-read of Prisoner of Azkaban!
@Bluemoon - Haha interesting, almost everyone I know who's read that series didn't like the end of Blood of Olympus. (And I didn't like it much either, haha.) But I'm a little less annoyed by what happened now that I know we'll see all the same characters in the Trials of Apollo.
@Ashley - AAHHH I LOVE WATERSHIP DOWN. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid. :D I re-read it maybe a year or two ago and it was just as awesome as I remembered. Also thanks for posting your Riders review! I think I'll give that book a try at some point––maybe if I find it at the library or something. :)

The Penguin hardcover looks very handsome! I've got the fat little paperback with Cosette on the cover and it is awkward to read sometimes, as thick as it is.

Guess what I found this morning....right in front of me. I had passed right over it when I was looking for it. I think it's the same paperback you have....gray cover behind Cosette, right? So glad I didn't lose it. Has that ever happened to you guys--losing a book only to find it right where it should be?

Awesome! I'll add it to my TBR. :)

Ooh, I've been meaning to try that! I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it. :)

And now I'm starting my re-read of:

Oh fun! I'm only a couple chapters into my reread, but I remember this is the book where I stopped hating Ronan.
You hated Ronan?! :O
Lol but I get what you mean––I definitely liked him a lot more after reading The Dream Thieves.

I did. I thought he was so rude and self-centered. (I'm not a huge fan of Gansey either, or Adam for that matter). If I think about, I don't "love" any of the characters. But I love the way they fit together in the story, which is probably why it's one of my favorite series!
After Dream Thieves, though, Ronan become my fave :)

Yeahhhh um... might be DNFing this if it gets any worse - I'm around 10% and they're dealing with rape and heroin and cocaine... Like I said in my status update, I totally understand where they're coming from, it's just one of those topics that I don't handle very well.

I lose things all the time and find them right where I checked 10 times already! I blame ghosts! hahaha

Ha! I definitely know how that feels -- I'm still missing my original copy of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee; my dad found a spare copy lying around his house about a month after I'd read it (and apparently made it vanish), so I have a copy still but it irks me that it's not the original one I had.

I'm around the 150-page mark and really enjoying it! :D And I heard there's an old animated film as well?
@Elora - Haha I see where you're coming from; he can be very rude indeed. :P All the characters are very flawed, but that's part of why I love them so much! And I agree, they all "fit" together so well. That's probably my favorite thing about the series.
@Ashley - Uh-oh. :( I can deal with those things to a certain extent, but they tend to really piss me off if it's handled poorly––or if it's just kinda thrown in there to be ""edgy"". Thanks for the warning.
But I'm glad you're enjoying Watership Down!! Yes, there is an animated film of it. I've heard it's good but really graphic and disturbing. o_o I've never seen it but I've seen pictures, haha.

Yeah, I'm really uncertain right now. And then Overdrive skipped a section (as it likes to do) so I'm gonna try and listen to a bit more tomorrow and see how it goes.
