I'm hoping to get Six of Crows for Christmas, too. I'm surprised that my library doesn't carry those. But it does have The Raven Boys, so maybe I'll work on that series in the meantime.

Yes.
In other news! The final book for the Great Library trilogy has a cover and I NEEEEEED IT.

Ooooo I love it!
BECKY: I believe Wolf by Wolf is going to be a duology. So yes, Blood for Blood is the last book.
I just bought Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom a few weeks ago and will most likely read them next year.
I have read and finished...
It is by far my favorite book in the series. I love the whole book from the beginning to the end. I have to say Cinder finally grew on me, but I still prefer Scarlet. I'm not really sure how I feel about Winter and Jacin, but either way I still really loved it!

Just in the first few chapters. It's holding my interest so that's something.

Ahhhh I loved the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books! And the Swedish film adaptations are AH. MAZE. ING.
I was a Scarlet fan throughout but I like my heroines like her in general. Loved GWTDT as well and highly recommend it on audio! I will say I think because the author died before the series was released they did not edit the books as much as they could have IMO so at times them meander into political stuff so I would get lost for awhile but I loved it despite that.
Finished...
Really enjoyed the first and re-reading the whole series of the second.
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was overly descriptive and at times it did get to me, but overall I actually really enjoyed the book. I'm not really the type to delve on books with this kind of topic, but I still enjoyed my reading experience.

The Room only just begun, but great so far....also reading Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape which is one of the best 'breaking out of a religion' type books I've read and...
also reading the poignant, well read (audio version) of Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis This book speaks to me personally as a person living in a 'hillbilly' type area- these are MY people!
Hello. We are up to my pick for the hidden gem reads Okay for Now
- I hope others like it too.

It's that time again! Please post your best reads of 2016 here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... :) It is always fun to look back and see what I loved over the year.
HEY GUYS. I'm so so so sorry I haven't checked in on this group in like ..... more than a month. I've been like insanely busy (I got a new job so I'm working 20+ more hours a week than I used to, lol. Plus I went to Europe!!) and also .... mental stuff, but don't worry I'm okay lol. I've just been like hyperfixating on other things recently and I've been neglecting Goodreads/reading which I feel really bad about.
So yeah ummm I don't know if I even read anything in November, it was kind of a whirlwind month for me because new job/traveling/NaNoWriMo. But I just got from the library:
Which I'm excited to read!
I'm definitely not going to make my reading goal for the year. I fell wayyy off track. But ah well, I'm glad to at least be picking up a book again, lol.

Welcome back Brigid! Congrats on your new job and your Europe (I am sure they think what is going on here in the States is interesting - they sure did when I went in March).
Thanks Heidi! Lol yeah I went right after the election ... it felt good to leave the country for a bit. :P

I have never heard of that one before. It looks good. Let me know what you think of it!

I am only an hour into the audio but so far I like it. I will keep you updated.

I bought a copy of that book a while ago, Heidi! I still need to read it. I've heard good things about it.
So far I love Matthew Quick Brigid - hope that opinion sticks with this read :)
I forgot to add that besides Forgive Me Leonard Peacock I am reading Elora's book Redemption
. I am not able to adjust the font size for some reason so it is very small print so I am only able to read a few pages at a time but so far I like it a lot :)

I didn't like the first one much when I read it, but I decided to give the series another try because it's all popular right now. I loved her Legend series but something about the writing style in this one is off-putting to me.
Trying

It's a lot more adult than what I normally read, which makes me uncomfortable in certain scenes. But the book is quite dark, and I'm not sure exactly what is going on, but it is interesting nonetheless.

I bought the Salt to the Sea on audio awhile back when it was on sale since several of my GR friends loved it - still need to get to it

Going to read a collection of light Christmas romances I found at my library sale for $1!

And also

I grabbed My Lady Jane. Elora did you recommend it to me? Someone did because I put it in my tbr pile awhile back.

I'm excited to finish this series!
Kindle put a lot of good books on sale ^_^
since I was able to meet my Goodreads goal this year, I decided to celebrate by not reading any books on December, plus I'm on a bit of a reading slump. Tried picking up a few books, but not that interested....booooo....

Ah too bad, Blue!

I'm also working on

I just wanted to say that today's audiobook deal on Audible is A Monster Calls
. I HIGHLY recommend the audio of this - even if you read the book in print. I think it is only $1.99
