Fair and Tender Ladies; I thought it was wonderful but sad. :( Not ALL sad, but parts of it broke my heart, but in a good way, I guess?
Finished:
Well....it certainly took some turns I wasn't expecting, haha. I feel like the concept was interesting, I just wish the execution had been better.
Next I'm thinking I might re-read:
I haven't been making much progress on my re-read goals lately, so I should probably get on top of that. :P

I'm planning on reading the His Dark Materials trilogy soon! Never read it before.
Oh, cool!! I'll be interested to hear your thoughts. :D I loved the first book when I was a kid, and then I feel like the second and third books went over my head a little ... so I've been meaning to re-read them for years. Hopefully this time around I'll understand them better, haha.
I am so sad that Out of Easy got lost along our Around the World trip. So sorry Jenny. I sure hope Kaylani who had it last is ok since she has a lot of health problems I know.
One of my favorites is on sale today for $1.99 in case anyone is interested City of Thieves

I hope she's okay too, I sent her several messages and never got any answer at all. :( I'm not too worried about the book--I got a replacement when I met the author to get it signed, but I'm bummed about all the postcards and other stuff people sent with it.
Since I last posted I finished Saga vol. 5(link's being difficult)

Up next I think I'm gonna read

which tore my heart out several times! Loved it, really dramatic, but also really good!I'm moving right on with
Finished my reread of Ashfall. I skimmed a bit in places because of stuff I didn't feel the need to reread again (the assholery at Camp Galena in particular) but it's keeping its original 5 stars. Gonna try and finish Soulless tonight.

I'm glad to hear you still loved it!

It was soooo good! I loved every minute. Watney is one of my new favorite characters.
I started Amazing Grace
; it's good so far! Just finished a sweet romance set in Colorado;
hadn't read anything like that in a long time. I enjoyed it. :) soon I need to start The Nightingale
for Book Club. Everyone I know has liked it a lot, but it is long!! I'm not ready to settle down with it yet! ;)
Been getting into this graphic novel, read most of them already. Such a fun read, gross, but good.

TIme for an update! I've been a reading machine the last week or so!For the #AYearathon Readathon (theme of short books):
which I really liked. A prequel short story about how the Wild Poppy got started, takes place before
I really liked this one, too! It was a wonderful novella.
which was classic Nancy Drew--I haven't read Nancy Drew in a really long time! I liked this one, even though it was pretty old fashioned (published in 1930). That being said, Nancy herself was very modern and independent, and I LOVED that! I forgot how much I liked her :)
and I really liked this one! Fun fantasy that almost felt like a fairy tale.
This was my favorite of the week, really beautiful writing!
LOVED Peter Pan, its just a fun classic story, with a bittersweet ending.I started reading
for a buddy read, good so far!
Dixie wrote: "Tommy, what did you think of the Jane Yolen book? I have liked other books I have read by her."I quite liked it. I mean, it's not a new favorite or anything and it's very short, but in my opinion a worthwhile read.
Wow Jenny you got a lot of reading done! I used to love Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys too. Glad to know Nancy held up as an adult reader :)
I've actually never read Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys. Nancy always got mentioned in the BabySitters Club books though and I loved those :D
Ashley *Hufflepuff Kitten* wrote: "I've actually never read Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys. Nancy always got mentioned in the BabySitters Club books though and I loved those :D"NEVER???? Oh my goodness! That's so funny. I read ALL of the original Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys....multiple times! HB were definitely my favorite, especially, While the Clock Ticked and The Missing Chums.

I am old Elora! I actually watched it when it aired on TV in the late 70's and had quite the crush on Shaun Cassidy and his feathered hair. My sisters & I bought his albums (yes actual LP albums) and played Da Do Run Run over and over. He was the late 70's Justin Bieber (the early days - you know before he became a douche).

I liked it! I didn't feel much of an emotional connection with the book, but I thought it had a strong atmosphere/tone and some good twists.
