I finished
, and I loved it! Great end to a fun series!Still reading
(alright so far, at least there is a lot of action in these!) and started
which is really interesting, but kind of slow moving at this point. I'm hoping it picks up.

I definitely thought it was worth reading!
It's been awhile since I've updated here, so here goes:I read
and loved it! In highschool, I consumed mysteries, but as I've gotten older, it's been harder for me to read them cuz I can usually pick out 'who done it' in the first few chapters. That was not the case with this book. I was constantly going back and forth and around in circles with who I suspected.Since I had a positive mystery experience, I picked up another one. This time it was
. Unfortunately I had that one pegged by the second chapter. I finished the book hoping that there would be a huge twist, but no dice.I read
and absolutely adored it. I spent much of the time laughing. :)
wasn't too bad. The ending got weird for me...one of the characters acted completely out of character and went against everything she had done during the book, but it was still a fun read. Bonus: a nice twist on a fairy tale. Finally, I picked up
The first 20 pages were really hard for me to get into (talk about a few weeks), but once I got to page 22, I consumed the book til the end. I LOVED Rossi's other series (Under the Never Sky) and this one has a fantastic start.
I tried
and didn't have any patience for it, even with the fairy-tale twist. I probably just read it wrong ;)Should be finishing up
today -- it's not a terrible book, but at this point all I can see are the inconsistencies and comparisons. Julian and Maven are my favorite characters. We'll see if the end changes any of that.
I finally finished
and it was FASCINATING!! Especially when it described in detail how Holmes was finally found out! What an egotistical sadist he was! Also, I never realized how much of America was shaped by that fair, especially in architecture. Was an excellent read!

I am enjoying it Jenny! I just want to punch Sophie sometimes :) The audiobook narrator is really good :)

Read a couple a quick, light romances that I was not impressed by. Need to get back to Apollo and The School of Good and Evil. (Really wish the GR app would let me put up the links.)

I read Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania earlier this year and loved it too, now I just need to read Thunderstruck and In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin

This magical-realism story was unpredictable and intriguing, a young adult book written in a literary vein while still maintaining the feel of YA genre. I like this new trend where the author doesn't "dumb" down the language.

Lucinda that was one of our recent monthly reads. I hope to grab the free audiobook when it is offered by YA Sync soon so I listen to it.

I finished. I went into it thinking it was a standalone (since there were no markings on the cover indicating otherwise), but found out it was a duology...and I'll be reading the sequel.
It was pretty good. It was crazy fast-paced and the plot was pretty good, too. There were a lot of revelations at the end that took some time for me to wrap my head around. It was a thriller kindof book--more action than mystery, but I was never bored. It's definitely not a relaxing book. ;)
Loving my reread of To Kill a Mockingbird. I don't think I'll wait another 10+ years to reread it next time!
Thanks for the update Elora!
p.s. I am not sure about this new Goodreads front page. My groups aren't there anymore!

This slow pace seems to be going around. I feel like I've just barely been chipping away at my books lately. It's not the books, because I like what I'm reading, it's just me.I agree about the new Goodreads homepage Heidi! I feel so lost!! :(

Me, too!
I have been going to a new library and they had the BEST display of YA books; they were the nominees for the Georgia Peach Award -anyway, so far I have read I Am Princess X
and am reading
, which I love so far. It feels like stumbling on a treasure chest; all the books look so good!! :)

Agreed! I can't stand it, it feels extremely cluttered and claustrophobic. Discussions comes up under the Community drop-down and it puts you right back at all your group discussions though ;)

Yay for new libraries! I am spoiled with two good libraries in my town and really appreciate them both!
p.s. So glad I am not alone on my thoughts in the new GR homepage. I love seeing my groups when I log in and feel lost without them there.

just saw the new update they did on Goodreads. Had such a hard time looking for my groups. WORST UPDATE EVER!
Anyways, Just finished...
I really enjoyed it. I hated the first half of it, but when all the revelations started to unveil, I started enjoying it.

I finished my reread of
--so good!! Now I'm starting my reread of
!!Also finished
and it was an okay read. I did like it, but it wasn't what I was expecting--it really dragged on in certain spots, but at the same time, it was strangely addictive.Started
really good so far!
Well, I think I will change my author this month, then, and wait to read Cassandra Clare in December, after that book is out :)So I'm changing my August author to Libba Bray! The books I'm hoping to read by her:
The Diviners would be a reread :) Excited, I love this author!
