I'm about halfway done and am kind of bored of it. It's the same thing over and over again, rinse, repeat.
I´m about 80% in and while I´m enjoying it, no, I have never been worried about Mark´s survival. I´ve never really considered the possibility of him dying alone on Mars, and this lack of dramatic tension is one of my main criticisms.
Well some folk sort of spoiled it for me, so I don't really have that issue. But then again I'm barely into chapter two so far. Enjoying the random humor, though.

I'm somewhere into the third chapter, I think. (view spoiler)[I stopped reading around the time he had the explosion in the building. He's checking all the sensors. So far things have been going incredibly well. All protagonists have to have things to their way to have a sufficiently long book, but so far the science seems sound enough for the astronaut to be able to figure out how to make the O2, water, etc. But things are going too well. Being only 12% of the way in - it's not like he's just going to sit and enjoy his crew mates' entertainment for four years. Given just how well things are going, are you worried for our protagonist? That things are about to go horribly awry for him? (hide spoiler)]
