So 7/8
Hopefully I will finish this challenge this weekend!

How did you like Henrietta Lacks, Caro?

I like it... I did not love it. It seems to me that they were several parts of the story of the writer that were not necessary, she does not only writes the book about Henrietta Lacks, but her story of how the book was made, and yes is interesting, but I think it was too much of that and at some parts I got distracted from what was more important in the book. Is a mixed feeling, if GR will allow me I would put 3.5 Stars.
Have you read it? Are you planning to do it?

30.By Fire, by Water
31.Pump Six and Other Stories
progress: 31/30 Challenge Completed!

It's a long while since I read it. I got it really cheap in the supermarket and it really surprised me. I found it very interesting but I think you are right about the making of it being a bit distracting. It's amazing that one person could unknowingly have such a huge impact on the world.

So is 9/8 I am really cleaning my shelves!!!

I hope we keep doing Clear the Shelves all year. November is usually the best time for me to be in Clear the Shelves mode. That's when I'm cramming small books in to make sure I reach my yearly reading goal. I've got a few tiny books that have bee sitting there for years like, The Little Chinese Seamstress, and Girl in Hyacinth Blue, that I still haven't read. There are others that I've been "meaning to read" like The Shipping News, and All the Light We Cannot See. There authors I need to get back to like Fitzgerald and Faulkner. And authors I just need to get to like Auchincloss and Saul Bellow.
As long as we have books to read life is filled with promise!

Alex by Pierre Lemaitre
Wow. Good piece of twisty turny Crime Fiction. I should read more of this stuff.

11/25 Girl Friday
Bit yawn worthy..just couldn't get into it, hence why it took so long, plus life has gotton in the way. I don't think I will make my goal.
On a plus side..Gained another dozen or so free books ..Badness lol But hey FREE!
Have a great day all x

5. Gettysburg: Two Eyewitness Accounts by Lt Frank A Haskell & Col William C Oates
I bought this book when I was researching the southern side of my roots. My great-grandmother's sister on my mother's side was married to Col. Oates, one of the authors. I originally just read the introduction and never finished - I've finally finished reading it and it's a very detailed account of the battle, from both sides of the war. My review is here: Gettysburg
