2nd Quarter Challenge: Clear the Shelves

Read 20/20 books
Completed the number of books I wanted but still have 5 more from my initial plan to read.

Amanda P :-)

What are you planning on reading next?"
Hi Laura, sorry I missed your message earlier! Thank you! I really loved The Red Tent. I grew up with the Bible stories it's based on, and I loved the feminist spin on the story.
Since there's still a full month left in this challenge, I might increase my original goal here and read anything on my shelves that isn't a part of another challenge. The Queen of the Tearling is up next on my TBR.
Will check back in to increase my pledge after I do some digging. :)

First 14 were books I added prior to 2016. Completed those on 5/19/2016. All newly added books are simply those on my TBR that weren't a part of another reading challenge. Let's really clear my shelves!

Well done on completing your original pledge! What did you think of His Majesty's Dragon? I really liked that book (it's one of my favourites) and I am planning on rereading it and the rest of the series later this year.

With one more month to go in the quarter and only three books left, I'm confident I can make my goal!

20/20 - Challenge completed!

Thank you! :) I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and the characters - especially the dragons! I'm sure I'll continue with the series as I find the other books.

Be sure to look at Naomi Novik's website for free short stories. I loved Feast or Famine which was set right after His Majesty's Dragon. She must update it frequently because I just noticed a deleted scene from the second book (which I just finished). I think these are awfully good books.

As we move into the second quarter of the year, it's time to clear our shelves! Many of us (myself included) have shelves full of books that we haven't read. In my case, it's my goal to read as many books from my "owned-but-unread" shelf as possible. Others don't buy books, but have to-read lists that are getting out of control.
Either way, pick a goal and try to clear that many books off your shelves!
Feel free to make this your own - you can add extra requirements, like using a random number generator to select books like our randomizer challenge. You could limit the challenge to books you actually own, or tackle the books that have been on your to-read list the longest.
