What are you planning on reading next?"

Hi Laura, sorry I missed your message earlier! Thank you! I really loved The Red Tent. I grew up with the Bible stories it's based on, and I loved the feminist spin on the story.

Since there's still a full month left in this challenge, I might increase my original goal here and read anything on my shelves that isn't a part of another challenge. The Queen of the Tearling is up next on my TBR.

Will check back in to increase my pledge after I do some digging. :)

Well done on completing your original pledge! What did you think of His Majesty's Dragon? I really liked that book (it's one of my favourites) and I am planning on rereading it and the rest of the series later this year.

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just cleaned a book off my Choice awards 2015 shelf - Winter by Marissa Meyer. While a good editor might have benefited in cutting down on some unnecessary plot points, overall, the book was very enjoyable. Some of the scenes reminded me of Mockingjay, but I really enjoyed the character development in this book. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars

20/20 - Challenge completed!

Thank you! :) I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and the characters - especially the dragons! I'm sure I'll continue with the series as I find the other books.

Be sure to look at Naomi Novik's website for free short stories. I loved Feast or Famine which was set right after His Majesty's Dragon. She must update it frequently because I just noticed a deleted scene from the second book (which I just finished). I think these are awfully good books.

Book Dragon 🐉 📚 | 187 comments SECOND QUARTER CHALLENGE: CLEAR THE SHELVES
Duration: April 1 - June 30, 2016
(10/12)
As we move into the second quarter of the year, it's time to clear our shelves! Many of us (myself included) have shelves full of books that we haven't read. In my case, it's my goal to read as many books from my "owned-but-unread" shelf as possible. Others don't buy books, but have to-read lists that are getting out of control.

Either way, pick a goal and try to clear that many books off your shelves!

Feel free to make this your own - you can add extra requirements, like using a random number generator to select books like our randomizer challenge. You could limit the challenge to books you actually own, or tackle the books that have been on your to-read list the longest.

3 Stand Alone Novels - Already Owned
(3/3)
1. A Will and a Way - Nora Roberts
2. A White Cougar Christmas - Eliza Gayle
3. Good Neighbors - Sheila Roberts

Read a Trilogy
(3/3)
1. A Real Cowboy Never Says No (Book 1) Wyoming Rebels - Stephanie Rowe
2. A Real Cowboy Knows how to Kiss (Book 2) Wyoming Rebels - Stephanie Rowe
3. A Real Cowboy Rides a Motorcycle (Book 3) Wyonming Rebels - Stephanie Rowe

Finish 3 Books I Previously Started and Never Finished
1. Thanksgiving in Sweetwater County - Ciara Knight

4 Free Books - Already Owned
1. Submerged - Dani Pettrey -Alaskan Courage Series
2. Her Backup Boyfriend - Ashlee Mallory
3. Sheltering Hearts - Robyn Carr

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just cleared another book off my Audible shelf - A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I really enjoyed this book! And I will definitely be reading more from this author - if she can take the more simple story from the first book and deepen the characters, showing how tragedy can change and alter even love, she is a force to be reckoned with! I'm incredibly impressed and cannot wait to read the final book! 4.5 stars
