Justs finished I Believe in a Thing Called Love, which I enjoyed. I also finished Emergency Contact, also a great read. Started reading Rule and The Girl in the Ice.

I really loved the Princess Diary series as well

Here's what I read since my last update:
Assaulted Caramel by Amanda FlowerMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was an intriguing mystery, with some fascinating characters, and a well-paced plot. I didn’t fully figure out the details of the murder before they were revealed either – though I was on the right track – which is great. Some of the things the main character did seemed to be done purely to put her in the right place at the right time though, which was a little irritating, and is the only thing stopping me from giving it the full five stars.
Glimpses by Hugh W. RobertsMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a great collection of unique stories, usually with an unexpected twist to the tale. The stories are often a bit creepy, and not for the squeemish, so be warned. If you like that kind of thing though, you'll enjoy this book.
More Glimpses by Hugh W. RobertsMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is another great collection from this author. The stories are unique and well-written, often with great twists, and always with fantastic characters. If you love tales of the weird or creepy, this book is for you.
Macabre Sanctuary by Staci TroiloMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was a great collection of well-written stories, guaranteed to give you thrills and chills. As with most collections like this, some of them appealed to me more than others. However, they were all enjoyable reads in their own ways.
The Playground by C.S. BoyackMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a kind of dark and creepy read, with a fast paced and action-packed plot, as well as a cast of compelling characters. If you enjoy books that fit that description, you should read this one.
Will O' the Wisp by C.S. BoyackMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a fantastic coming of age young adult story, perfect for those who enjoy a creepy paranormal tale. It's an excellent read, and does a great job of highlighting some of the issues faced by teens - especially those with disabilities - trying to fit in too. The plot is fast-paced and exciting, the characters are well-rounded and easy to connect with, and the whole thing is wonderfully written.
I finished The Girl in the Ice, which was really good. Now I'm reading Four Dead Queens, which I'm finding interesting so far, and The Star-Touched Queen, which I am also enjoying.
The Yak Guy Project by C.S. BoyackMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is an unusual and fast-paced story, with a variety of colourful and memorable characters. I especially love the talking yak who acts as the main character's guide during his journey of self-discovery and self-improvement. If you love imaginative and quirky tales, and are looking for a quick fantasy style read, you should definitely give this one a try.
Here's what I read this week:
Voyage of the Lanternfish by C.S. BoyackMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
OK, just... WOW! I'm totally serious when I say that the only reason I didn't read this book in one sitting is that life events, as well as the need to do things like sleep, kept making me put it down. The only good thing about that is the fact I was then able to stay in the wonderful world the author has created, and hang out with all these great characters, just a little longer. This is an awesome adventure story, with some fantasy and sci-fi elements thrown in. It has a fabulous cast of characters - I especially loved those little root monsters - and an excellent action-packed plot.
Once Upon a River by Diane SetterfieldMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the second book I've read by this author, and - though I did really enjoy it - I enjoyed the other one more. This was a great mystery written in a gothic fairy tale style, with a fascinating cast of characters. There were times when the plot seemed to start to be a little more slow-paced than I would have liked, but it always picked back up again before I had time to really be bothered by it, so it didn't get boring or anything. Over all, it was an enjoyable read. Just not as captivating as "The 13th Tale" was.
Finished Four Dead Queens, which I loved! Also finished Mirage, which I found to be so-so but I am still interested in reading book two. And finished A Long Walk to Water, which I loved as well. Currently reading Puddin’ and enjoying it.

Here's what I read this week:Silly Willy goes to Cape Town
by Robbie Cheadle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a fun account of a family holiday, with the fact it's from the point of view of a child often contributing to the entertainment value, especially during those times when it's clear the eight year old from whose point of view it's told lacks full understanding of certain situations. Add to that the recipes at the end of the story, and you have something you can enjoy sinking your teeth in to - whether you're a child or an adult.
Children of the Wise Oak
by Oliver J. Tooley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This was a good read, but it had the potential to be so much more. The characters were interesting, the idea behind the plot was solid, and it's based in a period of history that fascinates me. Unfortunately, something was lacking... It was missing that little spark that breathes life in to a story. I enjoyed it enough that I care what happens to the characters, and want to know what happens to them next, but I didn't love it.
Women of the Wise Oak
by Oliver J Tooley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This one was better than the first in the series. It was a bit of a slow starter, but was a pretty good read once I got in to it.
