Brigid ✩ | 738 comments @Heidi - Hmm yeah it does seem to be one of those series people are torn about. I have kinda mixed feelings about the trilogy as a whole––I really liked the first one, the second one was a bit of a letdown for me, but the third book is making up for it. In any case they're fun and the world-building is interesting! Like Elora said I think it does take some getting used to at first, but over all they're good. :)

Barb (bubasbookshelf) Finished reading Blues Harp Green by Nicole Schubert and moving on to The Ice Princess (Patrik Hedström, #1) by Camilla Läckberg and Posljednji Stipančići by Vjenceslav Novak

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments Brigid is totally right. Book 2 was quite boring, but i did think Alucard was pretty fun. Book 3 made up for it though. If you find you don't like book 1, then I'd pass.

For once, I'm reading all of our BotMs. ;)

I finished Fatemarked (The Fatemarked Epic, #1) by David Estes and working on Caraval (Caraval, #1) by Stephanie Garber and The Amber Project (Volume 1) by JN Chaney .

I'm also beta reading book 2 of The Delphi Effect by Rysa Walker and still listening to Jurassic Park (Parque Jurásico, #1) by Michael Crichton .

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments I am rereading 10 Minutes from Home 10 Minutes From Home Episodes 1-4 by Bill Howard so that I can read the next one 10 Minutes From Home Episodes 5-8 by Bill Howard . It is better written than I remember. Since I read it in 2014 I remember very little, LOL. Still skipping around to find the book that will hold me and I think this is it. Crossing my fingers.

WOOOT! I'm behind on my Fatemarked rereads ( I do want to read the final versions), so I may not get to Truthmarked until May, although I'll pop on the thread to read everyone's comments (I've been doing so for Fatemarked, too)

Wintersong is on my TBR but I need to figure out how I'm going to get a copy.

I do have the Queen's Poisoner in audiobook, so YAY, I'll definitely join in on that one!

I read this one a few years ago and saw the ebook on sale recently. I was debating whether to get it and reread it. I finally decided not to at this time. :( Mostly because of the length. ;) ha!

It is really well-written and I love how far she's come as an author. I really wasn't a fan of her Grisha series, but everything I didn't like in that series, she doesn't do in this series, so it's almost like reading a different author!

LOL! That's funny :P I don't have a lot of reading time atm, but I'm almost 10% in and love how well-developed the characters are. There's a lot of subtlety and nuance as well. Can't wait to dig more into it when I have some free time.

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments I finished:

A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic, #3) by V.E. Schwab

It's the first book I've finished this year lol, so I'm glad to be out of my slump (for now, anyway). It was my favorite of the series! Enjoyed it a lot. :D

Yesterday I started:

The Foxhole Court (All for the Game, #1) by Nora Sakavic

Not very far into it yet, but it's very interesting so far!

message 2393: by Elora (new)

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments Alright! I've finished a few books over the last few weeks. Here goes:
Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson soooo sooo sooo good! Heartbreaking and horrific, but so well-written.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie The ultimate who-dun-it. I loved every moment of this one.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, #1) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz So many feels. This is one of the best coming of age stories I have ever read!!

The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan I had a really hard time getting into this one, but about halfway through I was pleasantly surprised. Not my typical read, but the author included some interesting things that we don't normally see.

Rebel Wing (Rebel Wing #1) by Tracy Banghart Honestly, I was really disappointed by this one (and the rest of the series). I thought it was going to be fantastic, but it turned out to be really sexist.

A List of Cages by Robin Roe So good. A fantastic story of finding out who you are, friendship, and awesome parents. Warning...severe physical abuse occurs.

The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore I picked this one up as a fluff book, not expecting much from it. I was surprised. It's a twist on Romeo and Juliet, with some magical elements included, but there was NO insta-love.

And finally, one of the BEST books I've EVER read:

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield I won't give anything except: if you love books, if you love reading, this book is for you.
