What Are You Reading Right Now Part 2
Reading RAIN AND RUIN. Slowly. On my way to visit a friend and her husband in Puerto Rico which looks like paradise. Who knew? In an airport in Denver waiting for next flight. My reading is very slow now. But this is the Devon the a series I like by Theresa Shaver.

Aww so sorry Elora! Well, when you wrote this comment I could totally picture a boat rocking on the waves getting pulled by currents, so that means your written descriptions are good! Hmm... as far as the writing goes, definitely don't force it. For me, the key is being excited about whatever I'm working on. If I'm not excited about it, I put it aside. If I'm not excited about writing a character or a plotline or whatever, I go back to the drawing board and change the plot or character until it IS something I'm excited about. Sorry if this advice is completely irrelevant to your particular situation, I know there could be a million reasons why the writing is mired in quicksand.
As far as the reading goes, I HATE when I have a reading slump. Hope you find the right book to pull you out of it!

Great advice, David!
Donna, is it the Endless Winter or Stranded series by Theresa Shaver? I ask because I have the first book of both series and wondered which one you like, so I can check it out. Have a nice time in Puerto Rico!!

@Elora, I've been in a total reading slump for almost two months now so I know how you feel :( I have however been binge watching Bones on Netflix and I'm almost done with Season 10! Progress haha! I just started reading The Bronze Horseman and I'm 35 pages in and I'm enjoying it. I wouldn't say I'm out of my reading slump by far but at least I'm reading again! Sometimes, one just needs a long break!

Solid advice, David. Thanks! :)
The weather here's been cloudy lately, and that always puts me down. We usually have only 5 non-sunny days a year, but this one's taking the cake.
But I did have a character that I just couldn't stand, so I'm in the middle of rewriting her. I just haven't yet put my finger on how far to take her...
When I get the gumption, I'll just start plugging along again. :)

I usually prefer reading to TV, but I've been binge watching The Office the last few days. :) It's one of my favorite shows, and it is good to be back.

I've been listening to
on audiobook and while I like the story, I can't buy that Harper is only supposed to be 26 years old. That's because Kate Mulgrew, aka Captain Janeway, is the narrator is 61 years old, and doesn't sound nearly as young as her character is meant to be.
Lauren, my Joe Hill book is also narrated by Kate Mulgrew and I'm also having a hard time with the audio. Right now the character is early 20's but she just got there. She was a little girl or a young teen before this. I'm thinking about DNFng for now until I get the print copy. And maybe even after. I'm really not feeling this one.

She has a good voice and the story is good, but I'm always surprised when I remember just how young my main character is supposed to be versus the sound of the voice.
I put aside
for now and picked up the audio of
instead. I loved this movie so much and so far the book is just as good!!

Thank you for all your kind words....the clouds left and with them, my reading slump!I read
I read a ton of Agatha Christie as a child, and I thought I had read this one, but maybe I hadn't. Was there a movie based on this? Either that, or my mind turned the book into a movie for me?
ANYWAYS!
It was utterly fantastic....one of the best who-dun-it I have ever read.
Now I'm currently working my way through
and

I really liked the new miniseries with Charles Dance and Aidan Turner - that was really good. :)

Glad you're back to reading again, and enjoying what you're reading too!
Still reading Wayfarer and The Jewel and almost done with both. When I finish them, I am going to start Roseblood. Also, cover for A Court of Wings and Ruin is out and it's GORGEOUS!! Loving the green.
I just finished
on audio. Loved the performance! I was expecting the movie version, which I love so much, but the book is very different. Still a beautiful story.

I'm on page 605 of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire!! Can't believe I've made it this far and I'm finally going to finish it!! We are entering the "third task"! No spoilers as I'm reading this for the first time!!! Will definitely be moving on to Order of The Phoenix next!! I'm totally out of my two month reading slump! This series has my heart <3

I'm sorry to hear that.
As Karen said, try not to stress about it, and just take a break. It sounds like you need one. I'm sure you'll be reading and writing up a storm again soon!
