April M-o-M Challenge – Warren
Begins: 01April16 / Ends: 30April16

.
Warren was our March M.o.M. (Member of the Month). So this challenge is based on the information he shared about himself.

1. Warren is a technical illustrator for the Coast Guard. Read a book with a ship / boat on the cover - Post the cover image

2. His favorite place to read is "before bed, every single night." Do you read in bed?

3. Warren would like to meet his dad and/or anyone who lived through war. Read a book set during wartime (any war, any country). Bonus if the lead character is a father.

4. Warren says he hated reading as a child, but now reads 50+ books per year. Have your reading habits changed over the years?

5. He would like to paint with the passion of Bob Ross. Read a book by an author, or with a main character named: Bob, Ross, Robert, Rob (or other reasonable variation). First or last name may match. For example Nora ROBERTS would be accepted.

---------------------------------------------------------

Rules of the challenge
Books must be at least 100 pages in length
Re-reads are fine, as long as you actually read the entire book
Book should be finished within the time-frame of the challenge.
Any format ("dead tree," e-book, audio...) is fine.

As always, have fun!

.

This is the book I am finishing now. Will this count ?
The River of Doubt Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard There is no boat on the cover but the book is about Roosevelt and party going down the river and a few times I bet they wish they had the Coast Guard there to save them.

Sheila | 532 comments I'm going to try to finish it all this month:

1. Warren is a technical illustrator for the Coast Guard. Read a book with a ship / boat on the cover - Pirate Hunters: Treasure, Obsession, and the Search for a Legendary Pirate Ship by Robert Kurson. I highly recommend this. Pirate Hunters Treasure, Obsession, and the Search for a Legendary Pirate Ship by Robert Kurson
2. His favorite place to read is "before bed, every single night." Do you read in bed?

No, I fall asleep too easily in bed. I like sitting on the loveseat in the living room or outside on the porch (when the weather is warm.)

3. Warren would like to meet his dad and/or anyone who lived through war. Read a book set during wartime (any war, any country). Bonus if the lead character is a father.

4. Warren says he hated reading as a child, but now reads 50+ books per year. Have your reading habits changed over the years?

My reading habits have definitely changed. I read a lot more. About 250-300 books a year. I also will write a review for each one I read on Goodreads.

5. He would like to paint with the passion of Bob Ross. Read a book by an author, or with a main character named: Bob, Ross, Robert, Rob (or other reasonable variation). First or last name may match. For example Nora ROBERTS would be accepted.

I took a Bob Ross painting class. The painting hangs in my living room above my loveseat. I still watch his show if I'm home on Tuesday or Thursday. So my book is Vision in Death by J. D. Robb Visions in Death (In Death, #19) by J.D. Robb

Tracey (trakka) I'm going to try this as I just noticed the book I'm reading at the moment has a boat on!

✔1. Warren is a technical illustrator for the Coast Guard. Read a book with a ship / boat on the cover - Post the cover image

If you look carefully at the bottom there is a boat.

Waiting for Wednesday (Frieda Klein, #3) by Nicci French

✔2. His favorite place to read is "before bed, every single night." Do you read in bed?

Yep and same as Warren, every single night, even if it's really late.

✔3. Warren would like to meet his dad and/or anyone who lived through war. Read a book set during wartime (any war, any country). Bonus if the lead character is a father.

Hornet Flight by Ken Follett. Brilliant book set in WWII which has been sitting on my shelf for ages!

✔4. Warren says he hated reading as a child, but now reads 50+ books per year. Have your reading habits changed over the years?

I have always loved reading but I did go through patches of reading quite slowly (especially around exam times). Now I read whenever I have a spare moment and watch very little TV.

✔5. He would like to paint with the passion of Bob Ross. Read a book by an author, or with a main character named: Bob, Ross, Robert, Rob (or other reasonable variation). First or last name may match. For example Nora ROBERTS would be accepted.

Visions in Death by J D Robb
