Challenge 2 of 2016: Title Chain!

Hi Amber! Yes, I'm allowing people to break down compound words (such as Songbird) to their two root words, in order to make things a little easier/give a few more options.

Sadly, Wendy, I wouldn't count this. While the letters are practically matching, these words are actually entirely different (as one is a bird or a sound, and the other is an object usually placed on the head of royalty).
If you were to use the word "crown" from one book and "crowning" or "crowned" or "crowns" from another, that would be acceptable, because the base/root word is crown.
Is that more clear?

Looks good to me, Kgprewitt! Welcome to the challenge :)

So I just finished my first book of my chain,

Guys, this book is fantastic! The world-building is AMAZING and the heroine is so badass. I still can't get over it. If you have amazon prime you can read it for free. If you like Throne of Glass or Shadow and Bone I think you should really add this to your TBR list!!

I may change my next one.

You all should be updated now! Good work, everyone! I'll jump into this challenge myself soon (at least I'm almost done with book 1).

It was a really good read! Now tracking down the rest of the books in the chain - I just had to return one to the library (unread) so I might start heading in the other direction. Challenges!!

I had to switch it up a bit because the book I was going to read wasn't available, but this fit in perfect! Moving on to #5 -

Updated original post# 47.

So I finally finished my second book in the chain: Crown of Midnight. With school, it took me forever to read this book. Fortunately, my semester is done and I can now resume reading!
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to bow out of this challenge. There are some other books that I really want to read for the summer and the books on my chain are just too gloomy.
Good luck with the challenge everyone!!

So, question. Is Little Women considered Children's or YA? Both tags are on the book page for Goodreads, but it was tagged YA on my library's ebook website, so I'm not sure.

I would count it - I think it's one of those books that fits into Kids/YA & Adult. But I think of it as similar to Anne of Green Gables and I would totally count it.

Me too, Kdbrand! I just finished my second one this morning! (Thank goodness I planned to loop my list, because the 2nd one in the bunch doesn't seem to be coming from the library very quickly - so I had to go in the other direction. Ha!)
Books mentioned in this topic
Blue Lily, Lily Blue (other topics)The Blue Girl (other topics)
The Girl at Midnight (other topics)
The Heir of Night (other topics)
The Sword of Summer (other topics)

But I'm also considering Stolen Songbird.
Gremlin, if I go with this second pick, would I be able to use the word "song" or "bird" as my linking word? I found a couple other YA titles with "Songbird", but they're all single word titles, so I wouldn't be able to link them with anything.
