Anything Goes! Recommend at least 5 books
- fun and light. I love the series. I strongly recommend it on audio, book two had me in a giggling fit in the middle of work open space.
- It was the first book that had me pulling an all nighter. All this years later and I still enjoy it.
- a great series about greek gods descendants. I almost forgot about it, but I'm currently reading a shortie and planning to get back on track
- Oliver Twist meets the Leverage. I only read it because it was a BOM and loved it. Specially the audio format.
- cozy mystery series that is awesome on audio
- a charming story about sisterly bonds
- a tale about a curmudgeon which will make you laugh and cry
- amazing writing
- classic that I need to re-read
I will try to not repeat previous recommendations, but the spell-it-out for Nothing But Reading Challenges used up a lot of books, and I can't remember exactly which ones I used or what day it was (and dont particularly feel like digging through to find all of them)
- I just finished this, so pretty sure I havent recommended it yet. It's about a girl who was adopted and she's trying to figure out who she is and where she came from, as well as the struggles both her birth parents and adoptive parents deal with as part of the adoption process
- this is one of the funnier books I've ever read, and also really important in how it deals with depression and mental health issues
- Historical fiction of London during WWII, absolutely loved this, and the twist at the end caught me completely by surprise
- chick lit, Alice falls off her bike in spinning and hits her head and loses her memory of recent few years. So in her mind she's newly married and pregnant with her first child, whereas in reality she's got three kids and beginning divorce proceedings. It was light and easy to read but really touching, showing how a relationship you think is so solid (not only with her husband but also with her sister) can slowly unravel to the point you dont' know how to go back.
- just loved this, and sobbed through about half of it. So much better than the movie

At least 5 books that I haven't already recommended:
Harold and the Purple Crayon, by Crockett Johnson, is a delightful children's picture book that I really loved when I read it, for possibly the first time, as a 38-year-old adult. :-) (It also fits the requirement for the LC bonus.)
All Night Long, by Jayne Ann Krentz, is a contemporary romantic suspense book that is one of my go-to books-to-reread when I'm deep in a depressive funk and need rescuing. I really love it. And it's by my favorite author! :-)
The Paid Companion (historical romantic suspense), by Amanda Quick, is another of my go-to books-to-reread when I find myself deeply depressed and needing comfort. It's my second-favorite book of AQ's after Ravished, which I recommended on an earlier day. AQ is also my favorite author, but since it's under a different pen name, I figure that's okay.
Manhunting, by Jennifer Crusie, is yet another of my go-to books-to-reread when I've fallen into a black hole of depression. I also reread it (and Getting Rid of Bradley, which was also recommended on an earlier day) when I'm either trying to recover from or just getting over a massive panic/anxiety attack. It's a fun and funny romance, and never fails to cheer me up.
Magic Slays, by Ilona Andrews, is my favorite book in the Kate Daniels series. (It's number five.) Kate tends to come up against beings from different mythologies in every (or almost every) book, and the mythologies and folk stories that come to "life" in this book are the Russian ones. I love all things Russian, so how could I not love a book that features Baba Yaga and her chicken-legged house and other creatures and beings from Russian folklore and fairy tales? I love this book! :-)
Powers of Detection: Stories of Mystery & Fantasy, edited by Dana Stabenow, is my most favorite anthology of stories from a mix of different authors. I don't love-to-death all of the stories, but all of them are ones I've read so many times I've lost count. And a couple of them are the stories that introduced me to a couple of authors whose entire oeuvre I have come to love -- *ahem* Anne Bishop and Simon R. Green. ;-)
Nora Roberts 3 Sisters trilogy was beautiful and empowering for all women
I love all of Isabel Allende's books, but this one is my personal favorite
Sadly, Anne George has passed on. Her books are just hysterical! You will love Mouse and Sister!
The Tea Rose - amazing plot and really lovable characters. I was obsessed with this seriesThe Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - I absolutely loved these characters and wished I could visit them and be part of their society. The idea of someone finding a letter in a book and tracking that person down was so sweet
Bel Canto - stunningly beautiful writing. sad but one of my favorite books ever
The Enchantments - just finished this and it is DARK and HAUNTING but I loved it and the writing is amazing
Bonus:
- okay this is a child's book but I LOVED it growing up. It was my absolute favorite book.
