LOL!

My word is now going to be 'Alcohol' -
Patrick's father was a "weekend alcoholic": it was "the combination of alcohol and his profound frustration as a man" that led him to violence towards his wife
The book I've chosen to read is The Shining by Stephen King.

He's usually so entertaining when he talks, so I was really surprised. Maybe once he gets past the basics he lightens up.

I think you need to be Radically Iidealistic to leave home for a new country (in addition to brave); this book is about a radically idealistic man who challenges his monarch.
It was recommended as one of the 5 best Estonian novels by The Culture Trip which has some great information about lots of places.

Getting to the end of The Shining now... I didn't realise just how big a part alcohol plays in this book. It's getting quite intense
I am still working through Out of Africa but haven't felt pulled into the story, so it has been very slow going. I think it is partly due to the format of the book, which it seems is far different than the movie version. This has been a very slow reading month for me. :(

I felt a little disjointed when I was reading the book, especially after I saw the movie - about a thousand times. I kept trying to hear Karin's voice in my head. The stories are a little different, but still wonderful. Take your time. The book lead me down a path of discovering more about the people and timeline she talks about in her book.

I read a book that I thought fit really well and then had to work backwards to make it fit. My word could be Alzheimer's/Dementia, Parents, or Illness. They all fit with this book. I read Extraordinary Means.

ETA - This is the English edition: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... (I couldn't find it in the "add book" feature)

I'm only about 35% through my tribute book. I hope to finish on time as well.
