After seeing many great reviews for his work, I'm starting a CJ Sansom novel, the first Matthew Shardlake mystery, Dissolution. An author I've not read before, I'm loving the first few chapters so far...

Just finished Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult which I received from Allen and Unwin and have just started Goodwood by Holly Throsby which I received from TRR.

I just finished Black & Blue by James Patterson and Candice Fox. After a very neat twist at the end there, now I'm really looking forward to reading Never Never. Hopefully that twist will continue into the next story.
Is anyone using Litsy? I am obsessed with it at the moment and am finding evening more books to add to my TBR, if you are using the App let me know and I will add you, I am michelle_mck on litsy.for those of you who have yet to use it, it is kind of like Instagram but for books. I am obsessed with it.
I am reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I started it last night and read over half of it before I could sleep.Un-put-down-able!
I haven't been reading my novel because after seeing a documentary about Holocaust Deniers, I have started reading the Zchor Testimonies: holocaust survivor testimonies: http://www.zchor.org/testimon/testimo...It has not been easy reading but I am glad I am bearing witness to what these people went through.
Just finished Never Never by James Patterson and Candice Fox. I really enjoyed this one! It's a good start to a series that I'll definitely be keeping an eye on. I think I prefer this to Fox's Archer & Bennett series.
I can't help but think that both writers shared a bit of a grin when they decided to end it like that.
Here's one of those spooky coincidences. I am listening to 12th of Never and reading Hard Time. In both of them the dead body goes missing from the morgue and no one can find it!
Very spooky Phrynne!I'm reading Joe Cinque's Consolation, A True Story of Death, Grief and the Law by Helen Garner and really enjoying her description of how she got caught up in this story of a young man being killed by his girlfriend.

Usually I have no trouble reading two books at once but this time I am having a few problems:)

Totally agree Bette. After drugging her boyfriend with rohypnol, she injected him twice with heroin (he was not a drug user), she was given 10y, with parole after 4y and because she'd been in a remand centre for some time already was only in prison for around 2y. It took him 3 days to die. Just horrible.

I love all Helen Garner's books especially the true crime ones; another couple of goodies of hers are This House of Grief and The First Stone.
After reading something heavy, Van Gogh's Ear, I am reading something fun. The Sookie Stackhouse Omnibus 3The Sookie Stackhouse novels III

I'm reading I See You by Clare Mackintosh, only just started but really enjoying so far. I just finished Lie With Me by Sabine Durrant and that was fantastic. Brilliantly written.

I'm reading and enjoying Frontier Defiant by Leonie Rogers. Wonderful to be back with Shanna and the beautiful starcats :)
I've just finished The Falls by B. Michael Radburn. Very nice! It felt like I was reading an Australian version of Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. I'm now looking forward to reading The Crossing and will definitely be following this series.
I also like that a new one will be coming out soon. B. Michael Radburn has created some really good characters.I've also just finished Cross Kill by James Patterson, which I really enjoyed, especially with that killer ending [or I should say those last 20-30 pages]! I hope they follow through with it into the next one, Cross the Line
I've just finished Nothing Short of Dying by Erik Storey, which I really enjoyed. I can now see why so many people having been comparing it to the Jack Reacher series. It's another new series that I'm looking forward to.
I'm reading The Ballroom by Anna Hope; I was drawn to the novel based on the reviews of Angela M, Diane S and Chrissie.
It is September 1 - so this morning I opened to the first page of Frontier Defiant by Leonie Rogers!!!Finally!!!
***sigh***
I'm about a quarter of the way through Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, but not really enjoying it, so that might just go on the back burner for a while. As today is the first day of September, I started my first book for the Spring Reading Challenge - What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe
