Hi Owl. I'll be interested in what you think of Alice Feeney's book. It didn't work for me. Might have been just my mindset at the time I read it.

My reading buddy, Crumb, and I read Daisy in Chains together in January and we were both completely stunned by the twisted ending! Absolutely brilliant!

Phrynne | 15814 comments Mod
It was only $18.99 in QBD plus I had a $10 voucher:) So it was actually a real bargain for a recently published book.

Brenda | 80061 comments Mod
Wow! A great bargain! Well done :)

message 3919: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments I went to the dentist today for a check up. Scraped off a bit of tartar (ouch), declared all well and then charged me $75. As I said to mum, I suppose that's better than $175 and a drill & fill, with added pain.

I decided a reward was in order so I checked out the nearby Vinnies and got Time Travelling with a Hamster for $2

Dentist prices are ridiculous!!! And I don't like that part either, it's definitely an "ouch"!!

message 3931: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 2164 comments I bought a couple of books today. Firstly, to get ready for April, I forked out way more than my usual Amazon limit for The Tea Gardens by Fiona McIntosh. Don't worry, it didn't break the bank. Then I popped into The Book Grocer to pick up She Will Build Him a City, which Michael had brought to my attention after his recent Melbourne visit.
