You are a bad, bad woman Marianne!
I've just got back from the library and now have in my hot little hand
Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 ? Years Old, The by Hendrik Groen - thought it was non-fiction as the author of the book is the same as the name on the title - but is a clever ploy - it is fiction and Hendrik Groen is a pen name for Peter de Smet - either way I have been hearing great things about this book.
From Dymocks today Still Me by Jojo Moyes
Missing by Sue Whiting
And from the op shop
The Country Girl by Cathryn Hein I have read this on Netgalley but nice to have a hard copy to add to my collection.
Prodigal Daughter by Jane Carter
Last Descendants by Matthew J. Kirby. Some mixed reviews on this one.
Here is what I got today at the Lifeline Book Fair (I may go back on Sunday to see what's left at half-price)On the off chance that Phrynne wants them:
The Lewis Man and Entry Island
For Veronica: Rapture in Death (and is that all now?)
For me: (quite a few wishlist ones)
The Stranger $3
Anansi Boys $3
Blood Secret $5
The Train Rider $4
A Distant View of Everything $4
The Callahan Split $4
The Mime Order $5
City of Crows $6
Dead Joker $6
and da da!!! Y is for Yesterday $6
very happy with that lot!

Yes Marianne. That’s it! You’re a legend. Now I just need time to start reading them :)
Thank you for thinking about me Marianne! I have The Lewis Man already but if you save Entry Island for me I will be a happy little Vegemite:)

Apparently I won a book from Tracey's birthday blog post below! http://www.carpelibrum.net/2018/03/ma...
I don't know which book I'll get. I told Tracey to pick one out for me as I like surprises :)
Brenda wrote: "You did Mish! Congratulations :) She'll be able to give it to you on Saturday!!"Thank you! How exciting!
Yeah I told her to bring it with her on Sat to save her postage.
I'll report back and tell you which one she chose for me :)
marlin1 wrote: "Thank you to Allen and Unwin, I had Little Gods by Jenny Ackland delivered today"Well done Mish and Marlin on your respective wins.
The benefits of working in a school library - White Night by Ellie Marney and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury for weekend reading.
Bought home some books from our day out today. From my win on Tracey's blog, she surprised me with an Into the World by Stephanie Parkyn - it's an historical fiction but inspired by true event - which is something I love.
Tracey also gave me Beyoncégraphica: A Graphic Biography of Beyoncé by Chris Roberts - daughter is a huge Beyonce fan so she will enjoy this one, and I also love reading music biography.
I received Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally for the mystery swap by Sandy - seen the movie but never read the book.
Rosie loaned me Wimmera by Mark Brandi - I'm curious to know what it's like. I heard it can be quite disturbing.
I came home with three books. One I bought from the Dymock's bargain area, one from the swap and one from Tracey. Away with Words: An Irreverent Tour Through the World of Pun Competitions by Joseph Berkowitz Who doesn't love a good pun? I bought this to read then gift to my pun loving friend, Mark.
Before I Let You Go by Kelly Rimmer From Tracey, I had been reading about this author so was rapt to choose this. I am going to the US on the 31 st and will take this to read on the plane then leave with my sister in San Diego.
From the swap I chose 'a book about books' The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald. I had already read this so I swapped for The Stakes by Ben Sanders Looks like a good read.
Another lucky find today, this time in Kathmandu. I had The Circle of Karma on my TBR for years, but then removed it because I'd given up on ever tracking it down. But guess what I'm bringing home with me... Brand new US$7.
Fantastic Andrea. My sister in San Diego sometimes picks up obscure titles from my Wishlist for me.Op shop purchases today
When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi $3.99
Tobacco Road & God's Little Acre by Erskine Caldwell $3.99
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson $2.99
Michael wrote: "From yesterdays Meet-up in Melbourne I got The Melody from Tracey and The Chilbury Ladies' Choir by Jennifer Ryan and from the bookstores of Melbou..."Some great buys Michael. I really loved The Eye of the Sheep.
Michael wrote: "From yesterdays Meet-up in Melbourne I got The Melody from Tracey and The Chilbury Ladies' Choir by Jennifer Ryan and from the bookstores of Melbou..."Where’d you find She Will Build Him a City Michael? Never heard of it, but I think I have to read it.
Michael wrote: "The Book Grocer on Elizabeth Street. I read about in Good Reading Magazine and it does sound really good. :)"Thanks - I’ll check it out.

Yippeee! Still can’t believe you let me choose for you Mish. I’m too much of a control freak for that. Love your trusting spirit :-)
I received The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend after a sneaky little swap with Diana at the Melbourne GR lunch on Saturday. I believe the mystery book was from Michael. I then went to Dymocks to pick up an order of the latest in the Paul Doherty series to feature Hugh Corbett, Devil's Wolf and Dark Serpent.

Lol! I love a surprise! And the good thing about my reading is that I'm not stuck on 1 genre. I'll read basically anything. So it's easy to pick a book for me.
But I must say, you picked well!!! :)

I have just got back from the library with a copy of
The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris in my hot little hand, along with a copy of
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah! Very happy with this haul - I have been on reserve list for both of them for a little while.

Three Gold Coins by Josephine Moonfrom the post office yesterday so over the moon (LOL) about that :)
I'm very happy that I just received a copy of American by Day by Derek B. Miller from Netgalley :) The request took so long to be approved that I was about to order a copy so it was a nice surprise.
