Sally906 | 89 comments I've just got back from the library and now have in my hot little hand Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 ? Years Old, The by Hendrik Groen Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 ? Years Old, The by Hendrik Groen - thought it was non-fiction as the author of the book is the same as the name on the title - but is a clever ploy - it is fiction and Hendrik Groen is a pen name for Peter de Smet - either way I have been hearing great things about this book.

message 3877: by Mish (new)

Mish | 3601 comments Bought home some books from our day out today.

From my win on Tracey's blog, she surprised me with an Into the World by Stephanie Parkyn - it's an historical fiction but inspired by true event - which is something I love.

Tracey also gave me Beyoncégraphica: A Graphic Biography of Beyoncé by Chris Roberts - daughter is a huge Beyonce fan so she will enjoy this one, and I also love reading music biography.

I received Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally for the mystery swap by Sandy - seen the movie but never read the book.

Rosie loaned me Wimmera by Mark Brandi - I'm curious to know what it's like. I heard it can be quite disturbing.

message 3878: by Diana (last edited Mar 16, 2018 11:53PM) (new)

Diana (secondhandrose) | 73 comments I came home with three books. One I bought from the Dymock's bargain area, one from the swap and one from Tracey.
Away with Words: An Irreverent Tour Through the World of Pun Competitions by Joseph Berkowitz Who doesn't love a good pun? I bought this to read then gift to my pun loving friend, Mark.
Before I Let You Go by Kelly Rimmer From Tracey, I had been reading about this author so was rapt to choose this. I am going to the US on the 31 st and will take this to read on the plane then leave with my sister in San Diego.
From the swap I chose 'a book about books' The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald. I had already read this so I swapped for The Stakes by Ben Sanders Looks like a good read.
