Ace (aceonroam) Our Brisbane City council libraries were open everyday, not some of the smaller ones, but I used to go to Chermside which was huge, lots of seating and a coffee shop. I believe they are now in even bigger premises since I moved away.

I'm loving BorrowBox and now have most of my November Cleanup books already download including The Choke and The Dry.

I can never find what I want on Borrowbox. That's one area where my library is not too hot.

I just looked up Louise Penny and not a single book is listed which I thought was weird. I'm probably not ready for another big series anyway but still...

Thanks Brenda - I should have tried that. Seems Kobo has it for around $12 (although I thought I checked there) so if I get desperate......
Don't really need to be starting a new series at the moment so no rush as yet.

I read Leave Me earlier this year, Veronica, and gave it 5 stars. And I read The Beast's Garden last year and gave it 4.5. Enjoy!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments Oh, I was very naughty at Salvos today!
Fatal Mistake $3 (have the first two)
Moondyne Kate $3
The Case of the Love Commandos $2 (have the first three)
Dreams of Gods and Monsters $4 (have the first two)
Strange the Dreamer $4 wanted to own this
and I almost left A Court of Thorns and Roses at $2 because the last thing I need is another series, right? But then I saw A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin at $3 each just nearby, all looking unread, and I was a goner!

It's weird - they send me a lot of "real" books, then dither about the ebooks from NG!!! You'd think it'd be cheaper to hand out the ebooks wouldn't you!

Kathryn | 3569 comments I forgot to post - I brought home We That Are Left by Lisa Bigelow from yesterday's gathering and from calling in at the Brisbane Square Library on my way past, I picked up A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.

I'm hoping I'll be able to work in the Lisa Bigelow into next year's Aussie Author Challenge...

Naomi (naysbooks101) I have'nt bought books in forever... That changed this week... I bought:

My email from Hachette said they weren't approving readers who only post on GR and Amazon at this time (ie they're looking for bloggers), although they approved The Secrets at Ocean's Edge just a week or so ago!

My guess is that it's different person doing NG approvals to the person who sends you your books Brenda, so hopefully you'll still get a copy.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments In the mail today from Text, The Trauma Cleaner: One Woman's Extraordinary Life in the Business of Death, Decay, and Disaster. The package looks pretty battered, and seeing as the pub date is 2 Oct, I'm wondering where AusPost have been hiding it for the last six weeks. For a business that's supposedly concentrating on their parcel trade, it's a pretty poor effort!

Yes, Andrea, I'm looking forward to it. But it's only one of many recent parcels that take forever to cover a distance I could have easily walked a few times in that period!
