I was wondering how April was going Jools. Must be soon?
Good thing you managed to download the book - can you imagine having to explain to the publisher that you couldn't read it because you're watching a pregnant giraffe!

You will love A Kiss it's a great story with so many wonderful characters and not all of them are nice.

Veronica ⭐️ | 2386 comments I received Girl in Between yesterday and received the email today. Maybe they just had a glitch in the email send outs.
I already had the book and wanted to unrequest but you can't do that. I suppose it wouldn't be very often that someone changes their mind about requesting a book.

message 2290: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments You can "unenter" a giveaway on GR, but not on Bookstr. I got the email saying I didn't get that one too.

message 2291: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments also irritating, the search function on Bookstr is not working ATM so you can't add books to your profile :(

And with Lisa Scottoline being so extremely well known, it's showing as AUTHOR NOT FOUND on Bookstr! They're hopeless.... don't know why I bother!

message 2293: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments It doesn't matter what you search for ATM, it doesn't work. I sent them an email, maybe they will fix it eventually. But there are books I'd like to put up reviews for that I can't, because everything comes up "not found". The only way around it is if you've already read that author, you can click on the book you've read, then the author name and the scroll down until you find the book you want.... yeah, ridiculous!

It's a complete shamozzle - total waste of time!!!

message 2295: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6890 comments I've had that too Marianne and lately they seem to ignore requests to add books, so I no longer bother.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Apparently, I won this one To Become a Whale from Bookstr as it arrived in the mail today from Allen&Unwin. No doubt the email from Bookstr will come in a few days time.....

also in the mail, from Text Expecting: The Inner Life of Pregnancy

I got a reply to my email, telling me it's fixed now, so you will be able to add your Lisa Scottoline review, Brenda, if you can be bothered....

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments As I was in the Gong to donate plasma and then I get free parking, I went to the library to get Season four of the True Blood TV series on DVD. The problem with this is that it's the same branch that had their only copy of Dead Lions, and I just couldn't resist, LOL!!

Also picked up at Vinnies for $1.50 , Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
