I'm very jealous of you both, but I would want a physical copy, so I will wait....
Me too Brenda - it's a wonder you didn't hear my squeals of joy!Safely downloaded in case the publisher changed their mind :)
Picked up a copy of The Caine Mutiny by Herman Wouk at a garage sale. After having seen the film a few years ago and enjoying it, I'm really looking forward to reading this and seeing how much was cut out.

I was wondering how April was going Jools. Must be soon?
Good thing you managed to download the book - can you imagine having to explain to the publisher that you couldn't read it because you're watching a pregnant giraffe!
Lol Carolyn the publisher would probably sympathise as so many people have been caught up in the April thing that they might even be among them ;D
As I am going to Natasha Lester's talk in Thirroul on 1 May I was glad to come across an ARC of A Kiss from Mr. Fitzgerald at Mission Australia for $1
Marianne wrote: "As I am going to Natasha Lester's talk in Thirroul on 1 May I was glad to come across an ARC of A Kiss from Mr. Fitzgerald at Mission Australia for $1"Don't talk about it Marianne, it's making me more and more green with envy. :))
You will love A Kiss it's a great story with so many wonderful characters and not all of them are nice.
I suppose it's a bit far to get on the train and come down, especially at that time of day..... the venue is right across the road from the station, though...

Marianne wrote: "A few on Bookstr have reached their end dates, and no emails yea or nay for any of them....."and so today, 5 days after I received my book from Hachette, I get an email from Bookstr saying I won the book. And two saying what I didn't win...... somebody must be asleep on the job there
I received Girl in Between yesterday and received the email today. Maybe they just had a glitch in the email send outs.I already had the book and wanted to unrequest but you can't do that. I suppose it wouldn't be very often that someone changes their mind about requesting a book.
You can "unenter" a giveaway on GR, but not on Bookstr. I got the email saying I didn't get that one too.
also irritating, the search function on Bookstr is not working ATM so you can't add books to your profile :(
And with Lisa Scottoline being so extremely well known, it's showing as AUTHOR NOT FOUND on Bookstr! They're hopeless.... don't know why I bother!
It doesn't matter what you search for ATM, it doesn't work. I sent them an email, maybe they will fix it eventually. But there are books I'd like to put up reviews for that I can't, because everything comes up "not found". The only way around it is if you've already read that author, you can click on the book you've read, then the author name and the scroll down until you find the book you want.... yeah, ridiculous!
I've had that too Marianne and lately they seem to ignore requests to add books, so I no longer bother.
Apparently, I won this one To Become a Whale from Bookstr as it arrived in the mail today from Allen&Unwin. No doubt the email from Bookstr will come in a few days time.....also in the mail, from Text Expecting: The Inner Life of Pregnancy
Brenda wrote: "And with Lisa Scottoline being so extremely well known, it's showing as AUTHOR NOT FOUND on Bookstr! As I was in the Gong to donate plasma and then I get free parking, I went to the library to get Season four of the True Blood TV series on DVD. The problem with this is that it's the same branch that had their only copy of Dead Lions, and I just couldn't resist, LOL!!Also picked up at Vinnies for $1.50 , Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
