Yay Netgalley just approved me for Crimson Lake by Candice Fox....yes!!!! :)So much for trying to stay away from NG :{
I also bought Out of the Silence by Wendy James from Amazon today.
Brenda wrote: "Well done Owl! Hope you enjoy :) The first two are new releases - that's probably why!"Probably. I wish I had more patients to wait until they are a little less expensive, but then I think.. How long will that take? I'll be missing out! or What if they don't ever get cheaper? or Since my friends recommended them, they will definitely be worth it! which is 100% true with every book you've liked so far, Brenda!
In fact, I have yet to read a single book that I didn't like if my friends have liked it! Aahhh! The beauty of friendship and book clubs combined!
Of course, it helps when I don't even consider most books if any one of my friends have NOT liked it. Is that cheating?? If so, then it's just too dog gone bad! If the system is not broken..... and all that! =o)

I bought Out of the Silence, too, Julie. Great minds think alike!
Well done on your Netgalley win! Crimson Lake does sound like a good book. I see it's popular in the to-read department with some of our friends! And it's GR rating is 4.45!
I don't know how to sign up for these. Do you think it's worth it? =o)
Picked up the first two in the series by Candice Fox
Hades
EdenI didn't realize that Black & Blue and Never Never were published under James Patterson, AND Candice Fox.
Of all the books published under his name, apparently, no one is certain how much of the writing is actually performed by Patterson himself. To his credit, he does help out up and coming authors. And there are some serious talented authors out there, too. =o) Does anyone know who actually wrote these two books?
I also found a book from my home state, New Mexico.
Based on a true story.
Return of the Bones by Belinda Vasquez Garcia

Currently unavailable it's showing (probably because it has ONLY just been released.) But it looks pretty expensive too!!

Thanks back at you! You posted Crimson Lake which got me started looking at other books by Candice Foxin the first place!
I've decided to purchase it while I wait for The Golden Child to become available. =o)

Yes, you're right, it's a little pricey since it's so new. I put it on a list with the Book Depository to be notified when it becomes available. I'll think about whether I want to spend that much when it comes in. I did find it at https://www.dymocks.com.au/book/crims..., too. It's even more expensive there. No worries, though. It's not like I don't have anything else to read! Thanks for looking into it for me, my friend!
While I was perusing through books today, I found another Aussie author I haven't heard of yet.
Pieces of a Lie by Rowena Holloway Only $3.99 on Kindle. I'm getting quite a nice collection of books by Aussie authors! Well, I'm tuckered out after my busy shopping day! I'm off to bed. G'night all =o) Hugs xx
lucky me, on the way home from work I collected a brand new paperback copy of The Silent Kookaburra from Liza Perrat's lovely mum

Hiya, Woke up this morning to a nice friend request from a new author. I've accepted, of course. She has one book out which sounds delightful. It's always good to read a nice cosy mystery in between nerve jangling reads.

Brenda wrote: "Yep it is Owl :) https://www.amazon.com.au/d/ebook/Noz..."Okay, so how come the link doesn't work? When I click on it shows not available for download or purchase?
Probably because you're in the US I'd say Owl. The same as if I didn't have a US account (but I do)...
Brenda wrote: "Probably because you're in the US I'd say Owl. The same as if I didn't have a US account (but I do)..."Ahh yes, of course. I thought that might be the reason. I made it work once, I've no idea how, so I figured I could continue. I did try creating an account, alas, no good.
I'll just have to rely on all you Aussie/UK friends to look it up for yourselves! (I'll just mention it if I got the books at a discounted price. =o)
What would I do without my very wise friends? Especially you, Brenda! I am pretty certain there hasn't been a single question that you haven't had the answer to!
Hugs xx
Today I popped into a Salvos store that I haven't been in before and was pleasantly surprised to see a very different, eclectic selection of books to choose from (compared to my regular store). I walked out with A House Without Windows, Everything I Never Told You, What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours and Of A Boy (which they threw in for free, as it hadn't been priced yet - bonus!).
The mystery book I picked up from our Brisbane Aussie Readers' get together today was John Grisham's The Whistler which I am looking forward to. It doesn't mean it still won't take me several months (and the rest) to get around to it!
