Recently Purchased/Acquired book/s - part 2

I hope you caught it in time ;)
I wish there were more second hand book shops near where I live, it'd be cool to see something on the shelf that you've wanted for a while. I got a few Alistair MacLean titles once at a garage sale and they were going for around $2 each.
There's another bookshop down the road and it sells brand new books for no more than $7! Quite a few fairly new release books there but I didn't get anything :)

Oh, wow, I wish! The number of books I want but that weren't at this sale would be astounding!

The copy I have is probably one of many which had printing errors as well. There's a part where the pages go 49, 51, 50, 52, 53...so you have to skip to page 50 before going back to 51 and then continuing on to 52.

I was a big MacLean fan in my teens. The only books I had to read were my parents hand me downs so read lots of MacLean, Michener and Wilbur Smith.

From our meet up in Brisbane today, I came away with Ophelia Adrift by Helen Goltz which I have read but only on ebook, so I'm excited to get the paper copy!
And my mystery parcel was Barbed Wire and Roses by Peter Yeldham
Happy with them :)

I read Peter Yeldham's The Currency Lads and really enjoyed it last year (I think) so hopefully you like this one, Brenda!

I remember reading Barbed Wire And Roses years ago and loving it. It must have made an impression because I remember reading it on a camping trip along the Murray. (In the years before ereaders, where I'd take three books for a long weekend camping trip!)
Thanks Kathryn and Marlin - good to know! I really enjoy Historical Fiction too, so I'm bound to have a challenge I can slot it into :)

Glory in Death
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
The Hopeless Life Of Charlie Summers Marianne's recommendation.
And a Wilbur Smith for my mum.

I purchased the last three of my unowned Michael Connelly books (hubby is reading them now!) and actually found one I hadn't read :)
Nine Dragons, The Fifth Witness and The Lincoln Lawyer (unread)
Plus The Chessmen by Peter May jumped off the shelf at me!
No "In Death" books, no Deborah Challinor and Code Name Verity wasn't there either!
But I'm happy with them :)
