You just reminded me haven't read one of my favourite authors for a while. Too busy writing. Must get back to him. Is Fool Me Once his latest?

I read Jasper Jones many years ago and loved it so much I made all the family read it. I've always wanted to read it again but couldn't find our copy so it was a lovely surprise to receive it from Michelle (along with another great Aussie book The Perfumer's Secret). Thanks Michelle :)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments A very booky day for the book whisperer today:

in the mail from the author, a proof copy of Choosing Xaverique

@ Vinnies
The Drowning $2.50
Born in Death for Brenda $2
(they also had Visions, but last pages were stained, so left it for someone else)
@ Salvos
The Hiding Place $1 (wishlist)
South of the Border, West of the Sun $1 and
After Dark $2
@Mission Australia $1 each or 3 for $2 so spent $3
Ten Mile River
Salt
Gool and
Frankie and Stankie

But the thing that really gave me a little thrill was the parcel from Text which had
The Dyehouse and a box of Text Classics Postcards (covers by WH CHong whose covers I always admire, of all the Text Classics, as postcards) and a lovely sturdy yellow Text Classics Tote Bag. Sure, I'm happy to advertise their books with this, I'll use it to carry my stuff to work in!
