Those little $5 James Patterson books are great. I'd buy them if other authors brought them out too.
They certainly are, especially when the exact same books are going for $20 at places like Dymocks. I'd purchased others by him, both I, Michael Bennett and Gone at Dymocks a few weeks ago at $20 each only to find them going for $5 each on the shelf at Big W as well. It was at this point where I really started to question my intelligence.
Came home from the library with two reserves that they ordered in at my request. They had book 2 of Jim C. Hines's Magic ex Libris series. I donated to them book 1 and they ordered three & four at my request so now I have Unbound and Revisionary to read (Phrynne and Carolyn's fault)
I picked up The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter and finally gave in to The Dry by Jane Harper from Big W this morning :)
I think both of those were sitting in either the number 1 or 2 spot at my Big W. I also caved in a bit today and bought another one of James Patterson's $5 books - Merry Christmas, Alex Cross. I haven't read any of the Alex Cross books but this one really grabbed me and sounds like it works really well on its own as a story.

That was one of the first Alex Cross books I read too! It isn't his best but it is still pretty good:)

I'm looking forward to it!There's something about thrillers set during Christmas or other holidays that really interests me.

No I'm happy just to have the book.
I am going to see Liane Moriarty talking about Truly Madly Guilty over lunch next Friday though. That should be good:)

Sounds good, Phrynne! You'll have to report back. I've heard Liane at the Sydney Writers' Festival and she's an entertaining speaker.

Good! It's a pity I won't have the opportunity to read the book before then though :(

I've read a few of hers and she is very good Brenda. (I was tempted to ask for that one - but I've had too many NG books lately).
That's good to know Carolyn :) The lady who sent it to me said she loved it! Devoured I think she said :) It's a big one though! lol
