I gave that one five stars. I am about to start Run for Your Life

because I am immersing myself in all things Outlander at the moment, I borrowed this The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel from the library. Has mixed reviews...I also had The Midnight Watch: A Novel of the Titanic and the Californian on reserve, but then the book whisperer spotted it at Salvos for $2.50

What a bargain! Enjoy

Thanks Veronica, not what I would have picked up without winning or getting an ARC so looking forward to reading it
Arrived in the mail today: Pocket Atlas of Remote Islands: Fifty Islands I Have Not Visited and Never Will by Judith Schalansky. It was discussed in another GR group earlier this year and I've been looking for it everywhere, so in the end I just treated myself to the hardcover edition from overseas. Definitely one that does not lend itself to eBook format, I'd say.

I kind feel that this series was made from me, everything from the characters to the plot to the pacing. Enjoy Run for Your Life. That one's next after I finish this one.

He's a really good author but don't read too many of his books at once. It's like a sugar hit - too much of a good thing:)

I won't argue with that! :)
On a different note, I've also finally picked up Out of the Ice by Ann Turner. I'll probably wedge it in before I go on to continue the Michael Bennett series.

That one was brilliant Elias (IMHO!)

Nothing from TRR for like "eva!" and then two books in a row! :)The Drowned Man by Brendan James Murray ...last week,
And today:
I See You by Clare Mackintosh
I hope they don't take forever to get here or I might miss out on them :D

Congrats Julie. I haven't had anything either. I think more people are putting in for them now which is making it harder. The same with the Goodreads ones. Where there used to be a few hundred entries there are now over a thousand.
hmmm, yes, I would have liked to get I See You but didn't get that one: glad you did!I supposedly have Bad Blood coming.....

But I did just get an email from QBD telling me my pre-order is on its way. Not many authors I pre-order: this one is a fave, and I will post here when it arrives. Wonder how long Australia Post will take...
I just caved! A&R had a free delivery offer - so I looked up White Feathers and Blue Smoke by Deborah Challinor - and they had been reduced since I last looked. So I just ordered both at $18.39 each...free delivery! (didn't actually use their code as went through Booko)
No need to look for those now Marianne thanks :)

That's good! I've been waiting for awhile for others too... it's dreadful how long they take now!

I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting The Thomas Berryman Number by James Patterson, which was going for only $5 at Target.
Sounds like you just can't wait to read it! ;)I was interested because it was Patterson's very first novel. I had it in my hands then decided that there were other things I'd wanted to read before it. We had to go our own separate ways for the time being.

The library came good with Thief's Magic by Trudi Canavan and then Book Depository sent me Thirteen Hours by Deon Meyer and Friday on My Mind by Nicci French. Not sure when I will read them but never mind:)

They both sound very good all the same :)

There seems to be separate links for the blurbs on these Brenda? When I looked there was no info...
Now there is heaps??
Not to worry, I have them both now...twice :)
No there wasn't Jools - when I used your link I saw that. So I got the information from NetGalley. It had the same ISBN number and that's when I saw they were one and the same :)
Just received 3 books from Allen & Unwin :D
Maggie's Kitchen by Caroline Beecham (which I knew was coming)
and two surprises - Wilde Lake by Laura Lippman plus The Supernotes Affair by Agent Kasper :)

I just bought myself 3 books from The Book Grocer in Melbourne. The store on Bourke Street in the CBD was having a clearance sale where every book was $6 (not sure if it's just that store or every store, but something to keep an eye out for). So, the books:
Noble Conflict by Malorie Blackman
When Mr. Dog Bites by Brian Conaghan
There Will Be Lies by Nick Lake
picked up two from the library this morning:Vinegar Girl: The Taming of the Shrew Retold and Carrying Albert Home
Michelle wrote: "I really want to read Vinegar Girl, I look forward toYour thoughts on it Marianne"
they will be here eventually....
