Good haul there Jools and by avoiding Netgalley at least you don't have deadlines for reading and reviewing them :)

Exactly ;)
Marianne wrote: "in the mail today from Text I’m Thinking of Ending Things."The title sounds a bit gloomy but if someone left me stranded in a snowstorm it would be my precise thoughts.
This one sounds really good Marianne. If it's not a keeper I'll put my hand up for it :)

I think the title pertains to the woman thinking about ending the relationship with the guy whose parents they are off to see.
And if I haven't yet thrown you enough hints about The Sudden Appearance of Hope if that's not a keeper for you, then likewise. But it probably will be....

Yes, I thought there might be a twist on the title. I will keep you in mind re The Sudden Appearance of Hope.
Well, the book whisperer had a very successful booky day today!supported Salvos, Vinnies and Uniting Church.
First, a half price sale
Reluctantly Charmed $4
The Enchanted Island $5 and
An Abundance of Katherines $2.50
so $5.75 all up
then, well I only just restrained myself from doing Brenda's happy dance in the middle of Vinnies when I saw The Sudden Appearance of Hope for $2.50 !!!
also got The Plea for $2.50
both these look unread.
then Between a Mother and Her Child for my Mum $4
22 Dead Little Bodies (A Logan and Steel Short Novel) for Brenda if she wants it $2
Joe Cinque's Consolation, A True Story of Death, Grief and the Law $3
Doctor Who: 12 Doctors, 12 Stories $3
The Widow $4
I think my title is safe for now
no Deborah Challinor books anywhere though: I think Jools may be right, no one donates these

well, no need now, but thank you!
I'm taking part in a book exchange challenge done via Facebook. I liked M's status, and sent a book to C, the person's status that M liked. Now I've posted the same status, and people (e.g. E) who like that send books to M, then post the status. Whoever likes E's status sends me books. I paid $10 to buy and send the book to C, and now I can be expecting at least 7 books for free in return.I haven't yet acquired these books, but I'm looking forward to it when I do. Didn't know where else to post this.
sounds a bit like the old chain letter: I'll be interested to see if it works. I am still a member of BookMooch which works on points, I got some great books that way but not so much lately....

You would have to make a new thread for this if you'd like to discuss it Niamh :) It'll get lost in this thread after a few posts! Put it in Book Related Banter if you do. And if you need help, just say :)

☼♄Jülie wrote: "Well done today Marianne!! and you got The Sudden Appearance of Hope as well! :))"Yes, I was walking around with a big grin after I spotted that one!
A very good booky day Marianne.I'm starting to think you have some sort of magical power. You think of a book you really want and 'kapow' it turns up in one of your shops.
Swung passed Anglicare as I had a spare five minutes, picked up a brand new copy of The Husband's Secret just cause' and on recommendation from a teacher How to Win Friends and Influence People both for a dollar! Prior to that I popped into the library and picked up The Choice and Between the Lines for my daughter for 20c each. This too for me, borrowed.. Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world. It looks great and has a meditation CD enclosed.
I've been busy adding to my book collectionThis morning I ordered 3 x real actual physical books:
Woof at the Door by Laura Morrigan - cosy Mystery
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir originally by Josephine Leslie - classic paranormal romance (loved the movie and tv series)
Brownies and Broomsticks by Bailey Cates - cosy mysteryI also pre-ordered
Frontier Defiant by Leonie Rogers - Science Fiction (looking forwards to spending one last time with the Starcats - oh ok and the other brilliant characters too - lol)Then I also downloaded some free YA Dystopian ebooks:
After The Ending by Lindsey Pogue
After Days by Scott Medbury
Wow good on you Sally :) Delicious looking titles (especially the one with the cats on the cover!)
BigW today have new release books at two for $30, of course I had to get Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman because I have (and loved) his previous two, and also got The Silent Inheritance by Joy Dettman and DH got The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin :))
Brenda wrote: "Only today Jools, or until.... And well done!"
I don't know Brenda there was no indication that its just today :/ there were people everywhere taking advantage of all the sales, certainly this weather didn't stop them going out!
Well, in my pile of junk mail that I'm yet to get to, I found the Big W catalogue (thanks Jools!) - it goes until 15th June :)

the ordering finger accidentally ordered some books from Brotherhood......managed to get the In Death books I am missing (plus a few extras in 2 3-book bundles that I don't need and may go to certain other J.D. Robb fans). Will see what condition is like when they arrive. Oh, and a Ron Rash book....

Veronica, did you see
on Netgalley?I've got approval to read it but it's totally gone now to request as is Allen and Unwin who put it up. Only appeared for a few days or so!...and I was so excited to see Allen and Unwin appear on there.
Brenda wrote: "Wow thanks Marlin! Didn't know they were on NG either!"Allen&Unwin published my non fiction work but decided to publish my new work as an eBook myself. Left you a message re that and my annoyance with Amazon, Brenda. (With our prices messages.)

Thanks Marlin. I should check netgalley more often. Have a bit of a backlog at the moment but will keep an eye out now for Allen & Unwin.

Don't get too excited about Allen and Unwin being on Netgalley.....as they have disappeared too :(
