Most likely the author keeps changing the name. Books released under one nameretain that in their individual editions but the series page shows the most popular edition, not necessarily the most recent.

I think it should be in there, because this book was originally published in 3 volumes (in Japanese), so the English version and other translations/editions that contain the complete book are vols. 1-3.
Well, that makes "Wind Up Bird Chronicle" an omnibus, I guess, but it makes little sense for English readers to think of it as a series or parts of a series.I mean, basically, it only makes sense to think of it as part of a series if you are talking about the Japanese editions. And on GR a series has to be consistent across all editions. For English editions, the series notion is a bit nonsensical.
In the 19th century, most books in Britain were published in three volumes. By the logic you're using, every novel like "Pride and Prejudice" or "The Woman in White" or whatever would on GR be part of a series, since it contained the original volumes 1-3.

But I find many of the series rules murky, so maybe someone else can chip in.
I think there are 3 different series' here.
