Kim | 1499 comments Hello all. I've been a member of this group for many years now and mod for a big chunk of that. For some time now I've been doing this solo. As much as I enjoy doing this my life has interfered from time to time causing me to neglect the group and not give it the attention it deserves.

To that end I'm putting a call out for someone to help out. I won't be leaving but having someone else around to mod threads, put up polls, start discussions, etc. would be helpful.

A few things:
1) No authors.
2) Tell me why you want to be a mod, what you'd do.
3) If you've never contributed to the group I won't consider you.

So have at it. Who wants to help this club continue and grow?

Sarah | 3915 comments Me me me!!! :) I actually would love to help out with this particular group. I've been a member for a year and a half and it continues to be the group that I participate in most consistently. After Edwin and I took on the Bookshelf Challenge reading I started to realize that I would like to be more involved. I'm a mod in another group so I'm familiar with many of the things you've mentioned are needed.

One of the things that I love the most about this group is that the way the group is run is very structured. I like the way that there are firm rules and guidelines because as long as those are followed there's no need for debate.

Also, I don't work and I'm almost always near a computer.

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 889 comments I was actually thinking of suggesting Sarah as soon as I saw this thread :)

message 4: by Sandi (new)

Sandi | 145 comments I also think Sarah would be an awesome choice.

If you have a need for an secondary, apprentice moderator (which you probably don't), I would love to learn about all that is involved. As a member of the sidelines crew, I have watched all that has been required and have truly appreciated your efforts. I would love to participate in the ins and outs of facilitating the running of this group. I am almost always around a computer, even in the wee hours of the night. I love the tone of the discussions held here on this forum, so many of the members are erudite and polite, which I appreciate.

Anyway, I know we are all very appreciative of the effort and attention you have invested on all of our behalf. (My two pesos)

message 5: by Trike (new)

Trike Well that was easy. I for one welcome our new Overlord Sarah.

message 6: by Hank (new)

Hank (hankenstein) | 1230 comments Excellent choice in Sarah (it's pretty much a done deal right?), and I am very happy you are staying on Kim, I have appreciated all of you comments and work. It is mostly a thankless job and we probably won't thank you again for some time so....thanks!

message 7: by Edwin (new)

Edwin Priest | 718 comments Yes, Sarah is awesome. I second the nomination. Or however it works here.

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3915 comments I feel so loved :)

message 9: by M.L. (new)

M.L. | 947 comments Thanks Kim, I don't know how you've been doing it single-handedly.
I agree, Sarah is tireless! :) And Sandi and Edwin, second them both. Really this size group could do with several! All 3 from my perspective.

message 10: by Kim (new)

Kim | 1499 comments The people have spoken! Sarah is now a mod. We'll just go with 1 for now and see how it goes.
