I read in another article that this "John" looked a lot like Jim Morrison, that's why she became so smitten with him. I don't recall any of guys in the Manson family looking anything like Jim Morrison, and like you said Fishface, there really weren't that many males in the family.

That's right Fish, that's a strong possibility. Also, there were a lot of fringe members and people only loosely associated with the Family, and even people who drifted in and out of Spahn without joining, just traveling from commune to commune and hitchhiking through the canyons, so it makes it difficult for police to track someone, especially with just a first name. In 1969 when Reet Juvertson was still a 'Jane Doe', police showed one of the ranch hands at Spahn, Ruby Pearl, a photo of the clothing that Juvertson was wearing and Ruby recognized them, she remembered someone at the ranch wearing those exact clothes, but she couldn't remember exactly who. She mistakenly told police she thought it was a girl named Sherri from Simi Valley. There was a Family member, Simi Valley Sherri but she was located and still very much alive. The thing is that people in the Manson Family had several aliases and even shared each others clothes, so this complicates it even more for the police.
Interestingly, there was another 'Jane Doe' found in 1969 that was possibly a victim of the Manson Family, some people think she was killed by Bobby Beausoleil, but other people think she may have been a victim of the Zodiac killer, but the case is still unsolved and she remains unidentified.

Tip to killers: if it bleeds when you stab it, that's NOT a ghost...

Wow, that's every bit as bold as Herb Baumeister.
Whenever i see a case overturned because of bite mark evidence i get scared that Lemmy is going to get out of Greenhaven and come for me

What an odd coincidence. I just finished a book that took the reader all over the science and history of bite-mark evidence (Justice in Jeopardy: The Unsolved Murder of Baby Deidre Kennedy).

Who is Lemmy? Never mind. Found him. Lemuel Smith.
I hope you are only nervous because he is close to you geographically and not personally!

The thing about this is, nobody knew how many there actually were - just that there were more than one. So, that leaves the door open for the imagination.

That case will be so interesting to see how it turns out. I bet it won't be televised though. Just my guess.

The Revolution. Will Not. Be Televised.

It seems as if the more famous the defendant, the more likely they are to put him on the air. If they do televise it, there will be a lot of blue-dot women testifying, a la the Wm. Kennedy Smith trial.

Huh. I never heard of her. Is there a bookie?

Now that I have heard of. (But obviously never read!)

I haven't read it either, but it's now on the top-20-to-read shelf. Which has about 50 books on it.

The Tiger Temple one doesn't surprise me, unfortunately. All those poor little cubs.
Strong language to follow. Do not read if profanity bothers you.
This fucking piece of shit got 6 months! Convicted of 3 felony sexual assault! I hope the rest of his life is ruined!

I would have expected the letter from his old man. I'm sure he taught his son everything he knows about right and wrong. (What the women in the family no doubt refer to as the 'Moment of Silence.')

Didn't you read his father's letter? He didn't commit a violent sex crime, it was the college culture of binge drinking and promiscuity!
