Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) since we are so close to th3 end of this trip. I don't see a point in a hitchhiker

message 202: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments I mean, we're really only halfway through, a hitchhiker doesn't seem unreasonable to me?

message 203: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) We do get more points if we complete a challenge with a hitchhiker, as we get extra points for all team members completing a task. I'm cool either way!

message 204: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments I updated the travel agent, so we can officially fly from Argentina to Brazil!

message 205: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) I am currently reading Dorothy must die

message 206: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Hey team!
I need "D" books from Cathy, Carol and Rylie - have you finished anything, or have plans to start one?

Can I start a vote for two things:
1. Grab a hitchhiker or continue as 7?
2. Choice for stop 6 (Gran Canaria, Spain): read Spanish authors or set in Spain, spell-it-out GRAN CANARIA, or the detour "read a book with a tree on the cover".

message 207: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) My vote:
1. continue as 7
2. spell it out GRAN CANARIA

message 208: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) Continue as 7. Spell out

message 209: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments 1. Personally I don't have a strong preference, but it seems somehow rude to not give someone the chance to join, especially when team formation has basically stopped.
2. Spanish authors is first choice ( and one of the BOM works). Spell out España is second choice.

message 210: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) 1. I don't mind adding a hitchhiker, as Caroline said, we'll be giving someone a chance to play.
2. Spanish author as well, I have a trilogy by Carlos Ruiz Zafón pending for a while now. And detour for my second choice, some of my tbr list have trees on their covers :)

message 211: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments I am fine with adding a hitchhiker and would prefer spell it out.

I have finished my d book
A Dance with Jane Austen: How a Novelist and Her Characters Went to the Ball

message 212: by Carol (new)

Carol | 166 comments Forgot to put this up over the weekend.

Finished Death by a Honeybee by Abigail Keam by Abigail Keam

message 213: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments I forgot this detour was tree on the cover! I want to change my vote to trees or Spanish authors!

message 214: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Recap!
Rylie : need a book for this stop, and a vote for the next.
Roseena: are you still going on Dorothy Must Die?

Rylie and Carol: need your votes for the next stop, and whether or not you want a hitchhiker.

Current voting stands at "yes" for a hitchhiker, and spell-it-out is winning.

:)

message 215: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) No I just can't get into it. I'm switching to other book

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Roseena wrote: "No I just can't get into it. I'm switching to other book"

Lol I tried it a few months ago and got nowhere as well!

message 217: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) Yeah. I just can't figured it out. If it's cause I'm not into it or because of my migraine. I was reading it on my phone and my headache was not helping

message 218: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) On page 304 Delirium

message 219: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) Okay I finished definitely pick it up if you guys have a chance

message 220: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) hi everyone

message 221: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) So, what are we doing? We still need more votes and updates, rigth?

message 222: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments We've kind of stalled out.....

message 223: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) I think we need to finish this challenge asap! We have lost Rylie as well, so seeing as we are two down, I think some hitchhikers might inject some fresh energy! Is that ok with the remaining players?

message 224: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) And I think the general vote was for a spell it out -
Do you want espana (or should it be Spain?!) or the longer gran canaria?

message 225: by Carol (new)

Carol | 166 comments Sorry I've beenmissing lately. My internet connection at home has been erratic and work computers have been playing up. I can be in the middle of checking out Goodreads or other sites and the computer freezes and shuts down. Been a pain all last week, hopefully sorted now.

I vote for for gran canaria, but happy to go with the majority.

message 226: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Is it ok if I post for two hitchhikers?

message 227: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) go for it

message 228: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments Yes to hitchhikers and gran canaria spell it out.

message 229: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) OK...we are advertised for hitchhikers, moving on to stop 6, spreadsheet ready to post books...so pick your first read and put it in :)

message 230: by ♎ Nereta♎ (new)

♎ Nereta♎ (littlecleo) | 169 comments Hi, I saw advertisement that you are accepting hitchickers. May I join?

message 231: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) I vote yes for you joining (we are a democracy group)

message 232: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) Just added the book i am currently read and also an extra if someone has not been able to full fill it.

message 233: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) I also vote for Nereta joining our team :) I'll check the spreadsheet to see what I'll pick

message 234: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Welcome Nereta!

We're just starting our next stop - if you click on the "itinerary" link in the very first post, you can see where we have been and how it works! We are up to Stop 6, Gran Canaria, Spain. If you click on that, you can see our spreadsheet for this stop.
What we normally do is each enter a single read into the spreadsheet - once we have all picked one letter, its a "free for all" - fill the rest up as you like. Some us try to stick with the country's "feel" - using reads set in the country, author from that country, etc.

Any questions...post on here!

and welcome :)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments Welcome Nereta!

♎ Nereta♎ (littlecleo) | 169 comments Thank you for letting me join!

message 237: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments Welcome to the team Nereta!

I may have gone a bit crazy adding books to the list, so nobody feel bad about kicking me out of slot! I had a lot that fit and wasn't sure what would be most helpful!

message 238: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) I'll add some options too, because I have a few that could be use for more than one letter

message 239: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) Caroline, omg! I just saw the sheet haha! Maybe you should put some options on the second table and leave some free space for the rest lol!!!

message 240: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) lol that's funny caroline

message 241: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Wow guys, smashing out this round! Just Roseena and Kiki's books to go, and Carol, are you ok to put one in over the top of one of Caroline's reads?

Let's open up the discussion for the next stop...Stop 7 - how did that happen?!
Options are:

- spell-it-out PORTUGAL --> Porto won't work as not enough letters to keep Caroline happy lol! :)

- read a book set in Portugal, or written by a Portuguese author --> this one might be a bit hard, I don't actually know any Portuguese authors!

- the detour "Read a book with a temperature word in the title (e.g. hot, cold, cool, warm, freeze, etc)"

Post your vote...majority wins :)

I'm voting for the detour this round.

message 242: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) Sorry you guys i havent really been reading, finals are happening. Promise to finished by Wednesday .

Spell it out for Portugual

message 243: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments I vote to spell out Portugal.

message 244: by Roseena (new)

Roseena Peralta (roseenaperalta) I finished . ah she did it again Colleen Hoover broke my heart lol

message 245: by ♎ Nereta♎ (new)

♎ Nereta♎ (littlecleo) | 169 comments I vote for spell it out

message 246: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments I vote spell it out too

message 247: by ♎ Nereta♎ (new)

♎ Nereta♎ (littlecleo) | 169 comments We could also try detour

message 248: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) spell it out first, detour second

message 249: by Lu (new)

Lu (beltari) Girls, I took the liberty of updating the spreadsheet, since we were done with stop 6.

And for stop 8 I think we'll have to take the detour, since Genoa and Italy are really short words

Awesome, thanks! Did you email the Travel Agent that we have moved to stop 7?
