We do get more points if we complete a challenge with a hitchhiker, as we get extra points for all team members completing a task. I'm cool either way!
Hey team!I need "D" books from Cathy, Carol and Rylie - have you finished anything, or have plans to start one?
Can I start a vote for two things:
1. Grab a hitchhiker or continue as 7?
2. Choice for stop 6 (Gran Canaria, Spain): read Spanish authors or set in Spain, spell-it-out GRAN CANARIA, or the detour "read a book with a tree on the cover".
1. Personally I don't have a strong preference, but it seems somehow rude to not give someone the chance to join, especially when team formation has basically stopped.2. Spanish authors is first choice ( and one of the BOM works). Spell out España is second choice.
1. I don't mind adding a hitchhiker, as Caroline said, we'll be giving someone a chance to play.2. Spanish author as well, I have a trilogy by Carlos Ruiz Zafón pending for a while now. And detour for my second choice, some of my tbr list have trees on their covers :)
I am fine with adding a hitchhiker and would prefer spell it out.I have finished my d book
A Dance with Jane Austen: How a Novelist and Her Characters Went to the Ball
Recap!Rylie : need a book for this stop, and a vote for the next.
Roseena: are you still going on Dorothy Must Die?
Rylie and Carol: need your votes for the next stop, and whether or not you want a hitchhiker.
Current voting stands at "yes" for a hitchhiker, and spell-it-out is winning.
:)
Roseena wrote: "No I just can't get into it. I'm switching to other book"Lol I tried it a few months ago and got nowhere as well!
Yeah. I just can't figured it out. If it's cause I'm not into it or because of my migraine. I was reading it on my phone and my headache was not helping
I think we need to finish this challenge asap! We have lost Rylie as well, so seeing as we are two down, I think some hitchhikers might inject some fresh energy! Is that ok with the remaining players?
And I think the general vote was for a spell it out -Do you want espana (or should it be Spain?!) or the longer gran canaria?
Sorry I've beenmissing lately. My internet connection at home has been erratic and work computers have been playing up. I can be in the middle of checking out Goodreads or other sites and the computer freezes and shuts down. Been a pain all last week, hopefully sorted now.I vote for for gran canaria, but happy to go with the majority.
OK...we are advertised for hitchhikers, moving on to stop 6, spreadsheet ready to post books...so pick your first read and put it in :)
Just added the book i am currently read and also an extra if someone has not been able to full fill it.
Welcome Nereta! We're just starting our next stop - if you click on the "itinerary" link in the very first post, you can see where we have been and how it works! We are up to Stop 6, Gran Canaria, Spain. If you click on that, you can see our spreadsheet for this stop.
What we normally do is each enter a single read into the spreadsheet - once we have all picked one letter, its a "free for all" - fill the rest up as you like. Some us try to stick with the country's "feel" - using reads set in the country, author from that country, etc.
Any questions...post on here!
and welcome :)
Welcome to the team Nereta!I may have gone a bit crazy adding books to the list, so nobody feel bad about kicking me out of slot! I had a lot that fit and wasn't sure what would be most helpful!
Caroline, omg! I just saw the sheet haha! Maybe you should put some options on the second table and leave some free space for the rest lol!!!
Wow guys, smashing out this round! Just Roseena and Kiki's books to go, and Carol, are you ok to put one in over the top of one of Caroline's reads?Let's open up the discussion for the next stop...Stop 7 - how did that happen?!
Options are:
- spell-it-out PORTUGAL --> Porto won't work as not enough letters to keep Caroline happy lol! :)
- read a book set in Portugal, or written by a Portuguese author --> this one might be a bit hard, I don't actually know any Portuguese authors!
- the detour "Read a book with a temperature word in the title (e.g. hot, cold, cool, warm, freeze, etc)"
Post your vote...majority wins :)
I'm voting for the detour this round.
Sorry you guys i havent really been reading, finals are happening. Promise to finished by Wednesday . Spell it out for Portugual
Girls, I took the liberty of updating the spreadsheet, since we were done with stop 6.And for stop 8 I think we'll have to take the detour, since Genoa and Italy are really short words
