Christina Pilkington | 126 comments Wow! So much stuff happened in this section!

Let's see. Prof fights his own daughter. Tavi seemed to be close to him when she was first brought into David's dimension. Maybe they were both fighting the Epics together in their world? I already assumed that Prof and Tia had a child together, so that wasn't really a surprise. I had wondered about Epics having children together and them inheriting their parents' abilities. So I guess now we know that in David's world, children of Epics don't usually become Epics themselves. I wonder why Tavi was able to? Is this just something different about her dimension...Epics can pass along their abilities to their children there but not David's world?

And I can't believe that Tia is really dead. I'm thinking that the way for the darkness to leave Prof will be for him to heal Tia or to completely gift over his abilities to her. Maybe the way he can overcome his weakness is to actually hand over completely his powers...to lose his powers forever.

And I've thought all along that David really is an Epic. He's always been the savior-type figure. And I'm guessing that he ultimately will be the "good" Epic to save the world like Abraham has believed in from the beginning. So he has the ability to create metal and forcefields for protection, too? It's so frustrating that he won't share what's happening to himself with the rest of the crew. How are they going to react to that?

And David is killed by Steelheart? David was the evil Epic in the other world? I guess that's good symmetry. It makes sense. Also, it seems like David is going to take on Prof's abilities and fight him? That's what I thought was hinted at at the end of this section.

And I can't wait to find out what Calamity really is. So, in the other universe a Calamity- like presence appeared and then disappeared a year later? I wonder if there is something Calamity is waiting for to happen before it will disappear? Maybe for someone like David to come into his own powers and take charge?

On to read the final section!

I'm surprised only 1 comment for this section. Things are finally getting interesting.

David seems to be manifesting some powers to save his life. Twice in fact.

Tavi seemed interesting. I hope we kearn more about her, but we're running out of book.

Looks like Firefight isn't evil.

My theory is that David is Calamity, and when Steelheart killed him in the other world, that's what saved them all from the darkness.

But if that's true, David doesn't realize it. Of course Calamity is thought to be a gifter, so David's subconcious could be doing it somehow.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I was listening to this one, and I never know what part I'm in - so at this point I just held comments to the last. Good theories!
