Hi Upasana and welcome! As we address here both biz and writing, writing as biz and other variations, I hope you'll feel right at home, enjoy and contribute (not necessarily in monetary form) -:)
Hi Upasana,Welcome to the group. There is a very active set of people here with a lot of experiences to share.
As a newbie, I've learned heaps.
Hi Upasana,I really like yoga, but I've got to get back into it. Maybe you could start a yoga store?

I'm an artist (wire sculptures), book blogger, and a wannabe author. I'm one of those writers that's always got 20 stories in the pot, but I've never finished any of them.I'm also a marketing and PR agent for authors.
...And a mom...a wife... and a pharmacy technician. I wear lots of hats throughout the day!

Welcome Courtney; it's good to meet you :) What genre do you mainly write?

got zombies in your UF?
i'm starting to feel like a snack.
dark fantasy? cool. we had a thread going on it. maybe you could jump start it:

Hello again, Miss Courtney ^_~"
i munged the genres together on purpose. just so you know. btw, isn't that R-word against the GR ToS?
Miss Courtney also doesn't do ghost sex or fairies so don't even ask...*stern face*
(I swear I haven't stalked you! Just look at your blog. I swear!!!)
Courtney wrote: "Um, sorry, I don't do zombies... in the fantastic sense or romantic one... zombies creep me out."ah well, i DNF'd Warm Bodies.
but i like UF--which can have zombies.
Annie wrote: "Miss Courtney also doesn't do ghost sex or fairies so don't even ask...
where do you come up w/these ideas? hmm... good food for thought, nonetheless.

scary.
Courtney wrote: "Urban fantasy and dark romance."on a serious note, there's another romance thread that we'd be honored to have you contribute to if you so desire:

and, it's just Ann and I on that thread up to now, and tbh, it's kind of boring w/only 2 people.
Yep, sure are in my policies, as many books as I read, I definitely know what I won't read!Let me tell ya, there are some insane books out there!
I don't know what it is about zombies that creeps me out so bad. It's not that I just don't like them, they legitimately give me nightmares.

Heading over there now!

Ya know, when flesh falls off and stuff *giggles*
Okay, I just grossed you out. Please forgive me. Pleeeease.
Question for the participants of this thread. I am not sure how to classify as genre type a novel I am writing presently. It has people using magic, demons, angels, vampires, werewolves and dragons, along with lots of explicit sex (it will be rated 'for adults only') and will take place in modern times, mostly around Los Angeles. Should it be considered:
- a: as an erotica novel;
- b: as a mixed erotica/fantasy novel;
- c: as a fantasy novel for adults; or
- d: something entirely on its own.
I would much appreciate your various opinions on this. Thanks in advance.

*fist bump*You've successfully conquered your fear of zombies, Miss Courtney ^_~
*pushes THAT WAS EASY button*
Michel wrote: "Question for the participants of this thread. I am not sure how to classify as genre type a novel I am writing presently. Annie wrote: "I could totally imagine sexy time going veeery wrong...Ya know, when flesh falls off and stuff *giggles*"
that is totally inappropriate. i mean i actually felt pain when i read that.
No, they still creep me out. Your comment just made me think of zombie that looks like Beetlejuice and is saying in that Michael Keeton voice that his... member... just fell of inside her!
Annie wrote: "Alex G wrote: "i mean i actually felt pain when i read that."*satisfied smirk*"
i thought authors who write romance have big hearts and are full of empathy? but i guess you brandish a katana for a reason.
@Miss Courtney: Beetlejuice in a sex scene. Now I'm creeped out...@Awesome Alex: Um, no. I'm not a fan of rainbow-shooting HEAs. And I put my heroes through the wringer. Heroines too. Everyone. Wringer.
*smiles sweetly*

So far, I think this is the busiest group in GR. It caught on fast. We all owe Nik a round of applause for all the work he did setting it up.

Hi Courtney and welcome!
It's quite sunny here, so you'll need all those hats you wear throughout the day. We'll probably encourage you to finish one of those 20 stories soonest, just like we expect of Alex. For a sec I had a deja vu there.
Having some extraterrestrials on the group, we boast the lowest zombie rate, so I hope your sleep won't be endangered-:)
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!

I agree with Al "Tank" - Nik -> Applause...
Great group, and genuine leadership.
And in line with a thanking spree, I want to thank Tara and Ann for their courage to join as co-mods and for all the great things each brought and enriched this group with
Well, Nik invited me to this group sometime back but I am only now just smart enough to see the read invitation in my author dashboard so... here I am? Better late than never ?I'm an author of many YA and NA novels (been writing over the past 8 years), and have recently entered the crazy world of self publishing and started releasing them! Six so far, with more 4 sequels coming out next year.
I LOVE meeting new people on Goodreads! So feel free to "friend" me. I love to chat about books, writing, reviews and everything to do with books. This group looks great. Thanks for the invite, Nik!
Welcome India! Look forward to getting to know you better :)This is probably a brain fart on my part but what are NA novels?
Hi India and welcome!Glad you've joined after all -:)
And good timing btw, because we have this fresh discussion running about YA, NA, nuances and distinction.
Well done with all those releases and sequels coming
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!

i see that you tackle substantial and socially conscious subjects, including human trafficking, which is, with the reach of our global economy, the new scourge on humanity.
