Eldarwen | 5004 comments Oh wow, I can't believe it, I'm finally almost done with Beyond the Highland Mist hahaha. After I've been trying to read this for two months. I'm not all too fond of the story though and the male MC is just plain annoying in his extreme bossiness. Don't get me wrong, I like a nice alpha male but there is a difference between alpha and arrogantly bossy. :-/

I feel like these hands are starting to fill up really quickly hehe. :-)

You're right though, the good thing is that I'm almost done with the book. I dislike not finishing one. Besides, there are some good parts to the story, too, even if they're overshadowed by the things that bug me.

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Wooot! Sucks when you've got reading slumps!

I usually have the opposite. I want to read ALL the books and then I can't settle on just one or plain simply don't even know which one to pick up. Of course it doesn't help that today I got a batch of new books and most of them are deliciously fat :-D *grabby hands* Most importantly, one of them is A Court of Mist and Fury which I'm going to read very soon!! Along with all the other books I'm already meaning to read this month haha.

I had trouble picking a genre :(

I was waiting for A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas but I might re-read the first book just one last time. So good :)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Important bits of information for the May Mini Challenge:

◈ Books with a read date between May 10 - May 31 count.(books just need to be read at any time after this has been posted until the end of the UNO challenge!)
◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (March 1)
◈ For each word completed via spell-it-out, your team receives 5 points per letter and 10 points per word. Uncompleted words receive only 5 points per letter.
◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands

And a bit of an extra challenge if you're up for it hehe:
Although we think it is unlikely that teams will complete all the words, you are welcome to try!

;-))

I enjoyed it. I hope you get to it soon :) I don't think it fits a 1 card :(

message 792: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Argh, damn.
Okay, I'll put it into the red 2 spot then for now and I'll remove mine. Maybe I'll just hunt down another red cover instead that fits the red 1 :-)

Or maybe someone else has a suitable red cover?

It's a shame we didn't have any blue cards, because we read a good amount of blue covers already this month.

But good to know! I'll see if I can squeeze it in next week, or maybe for next round of Carnies.

Colours :
Hand Two: 1 Green
Hand Nine: 7 Green
Hand Twelve: 6 Green

These are the cover colours we still need to fill. Please check if by any chance you have something lying around that you'd like to read that would fit any of these.
Thanks! :-)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 1759 comments So I have a few books that I may read coming up. So do you think they work, if any do I read them.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan green enough? I have to read this for Life. I need a children's book. Ugh!

So Sweet (Sugar Baby, #1) by Rebekah Weatherspoon yellow enough?

Rock Chick Reckoning (Rock Chick, #6) by Kristen Ashley red enough?

message 795: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Good for all three of them, I'd say!
Percy for sure, that book is even on the "greenest book" list or whatever the one I just browsed is called hehe.

message 796: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I have a yellow option actually that I've been meaning to read for a while: The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd so if you don't want to read yours, I can always read that one.

message 797: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I'll hunt for green books on my shelf once I'm home tonight - with audio in my ear - something that is not Inheritance (The Inheritance Cycle, #4) by Christopher Paolini or Live and Let Die by Ian Fleming .

The latter I can read if we find nothing else but I'm not really up for James Bond at the moment.

message 798: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 1759 comments The yellow one was the one I was unsure of reading, so if you can do the yellow then.

I'll have a look and see later what other greens I may have.

Meanwhile I didn't read at all - hiking in mountains took all my time, but at the beginning of my vacation I finished

Elinaly Lately I haven't watched Eurovision song-contest, but when I was younger this was a special event for us. We gathered (some friends) in one place and watched the contest together, voting, doing some bets etc. Fun!

And oh, how I loved that Norway song "Fairytale"!!!
